- r1ggedgame3 years agoSeasoned Ace@Balladalidila i dont really play ranked anymore bcs of the worst system they could come up with. The whole Smurf problematic doesnt nag me that much, but the other end with boosted Diamonds that play like they never had FPS experience in their lives ... just destroys my vibe.
I want mates not victims, dont care how hard the lobby is (i really enjoyed the "euro-test" where everybody but me complained about hard matches against preds and masters, this was the only time besides being in a 3Stack when you actually got mates that knew their stuff) ... but it should give me at least mates that know what to do and not bloody noobs 99% of the time (talking about pubs). Its literally 1 out of 100 Games that i can enjoy , the rest is hard carry beginners that die on drop (and they even decided to drop hot, not me ...), thats why i mentioned the killcount ... people with less than 200 Kills mostlikely dont really know how to handle the Legend.
Also the whole concept of Rank-Split is utter trash, who in the right mind comes up with such a crap ?
Im fully with you about the ELO/MMR not being hidden, that was a complaint of mine since i started to play ... this only fuels the speculation that the whole system is/or can be rigged by Respawn in favour of selected few. - Balladalidila3 years agoSeasoned Ace
Yeah I hear you. Pubs in Apex is like Aram in LoL for me. I dont take that mode seriously and I definitely expect a mode with competitive integrity. That whats Ranked mode SHOULD be at least. But as long as I get noob teammates in the majority of my pubs but also fight squads of noobs, I am OK with that mode. I can have decent games in pubs, averaging about 3 KD, 1000 dmg dealt and 15% win rate.
How "well" my lobbies play out is actually due to randomness, based on which one of the 3 players in the enemy squad that I randomly focus in the fight and who of them that randomly focuses me. Most enemy squads have one good and two bad players so for instance, if I end up starting to fight the "good" enemy and lose, chances are very high that my two randoms will go even with the two enemies and the good enemy will heal up and 1v3 and we lose. But If I win that fight, the same scenario plays out but we win. Bottom line; if you are the good player in your squad, which you are implying that you are since you say that you always get two bad players as teammates, then its your job to carry.
My advice for best gaming experience in pub is to focus on yourself. Dont try to run in into a bad situation just to try save your noob randoms and prevent them from quitting. Just play and mind your own business and if you end up alone when two randoms leave the game with 40 dmg deal, then grab a sniper and play 3rd party strat. Its actually quite fun and also good to increase your skills to always have to 1v3.

@Balladalidilai dont want to "ego"-play and just leave the team to die when i should (bcs they act stupid) , i try to 1vX my way through and sometimes it even works out ... just to respawn them and being let down again ... then i start to tilt. and i dont like the sniperguns, except the Vantage One, but i play Banga most of the time to get rid of the aim-assist in close range.
This doesnt happen when you get mates that know how to play the game (and with over half a million players on Steam alone, one would expect those to show up as team mates not only 1 out of a 100 games) , but what will you do when the crap MM deals you bloody noobs most of the time ... im sick of being the carry, especially if its for nothing and they just die again with no descend dmg to their names - Balladalidila3 years agoSeasoned Ace
Ok. Seems to be that your issue is more based in the fact that you are playing with randoms than anything else. This will never be solved. Even the best pro players in the world can have totally different ideas how to play the macro game and specific plays (go left, go right, hard push, hold etc etc). So needless to say; people will have different ideas how to play this game and this is something you can work with with premades but to expect randoms to totally understand your ways and also accept you as the almighty shot caller of the team, is just not realistic.
Whats wrong with ranked then, especially now when they removed the leaver timer. You can actually not mean that every diamond you play with are objectively worse than you which ruins the game for you (you said they were boosted)? If they are so bad, you should be able to smurf your way through diamond.
BtwI also get noobs as teammates in most of my pubs but I also have like 3+ kd (included early leaves so 3 kills/matched played rather) and avr 1000 dmg + in pubs so ofc are the average enemy player also at the same level as my bad teammates. Just a screenshot from the match I just came out of... My teammates were alive almost the entire match and I literally had to 1v3 every single fight. But the reason I manage to win almost every encounter even with such bad teammates, IS because the average enemy was as bad as my teammates. And personally, I dont want pubs to be like diamond3 is for me, i.e where I literally lose every other 1v1. Why make pubs exactly as ranked in terms of SBMM, not even taking into consideration the 5-8 minutes queue time for pubs for very high and low elo players?

I think the basic point OP is trying to make is that in a team-based game, your TMs fundamentally matter ... And when there really is a tangible skill disparity, that limits one's capacity to climb.
This is neither a new concept, nor inaccurate.
Imagine the following, common solo-queue experience: You load into a game with 1 low skill/rank player, and 1 mid or even high skill/rank player. The high-skill/rank gets DC'd, and the low-skill/rank is AFK until they drop.
There is nothing you can do that game except rat and try to 3P for a kill or 2 ... And that's on the presumption that you luck-out with rotations, and even come across accessible fights in the 1st place.
It's a crap hand to be dealt, but it happens. Often.
Still my fault, eh? Heh ...
TLDR: Don't oversimplify things ... You're just spouting the same reductive and fallacious narrative. It's not wrong to ask for an unjust situation to be remedied somehow. For starters: Penalties for inactivity and sabotage; separate solo vs premade queues for better balance; etc.
Charitable interpretations of what others are trying to say will help the cause 😑

DC:ed, AFK and much lower ranked teammates are ofc "unfair". I dont disagree with this. But I am pretty sure that the OP isnt referring to these things. Ive seen this guy on this forum since S3 and he does these posts all the time. "My teammates are bad, fix it".What I am saying is that people think their random teammates are OBJECTIVLY worse than them in pure Apex skills and therefore claims the matchmaking is unfair and rigged specifically towards them but in reality, it is more due to the fact that they are randoms, i.e they have no teamplay.
Example: Imagine a ranked match with randoms where I crack one enemy in a 3v3 situation. I spam enemy here, meaning "lets hardpush because I cracked one". I go in without looking at the minimap and dies 1v3. A guy like the OP will now think "Argh my bad teammates! Why dont they follow? Thats why I cant rank up". But lets say one of them had no ammo, and the other one just generally dont prefer to take close range fights. And lets also assume that both of them got shot by a third team EXACTLY at the same time when I called for the hardpush so they interpreted my "enemy here" pings as "enemy here, lets get out of here". So they will think "omg look at this clueless noob who just pushes into the enemy team 1v3 when we get third partied. Why do we always get matched with noobs who holds us back from ranking up".
We both will end that match thinking our teammates are bad and noobs unless we actually use our brains and accept that solo Q WILL lead to misunderstandings and miscommunications like this. This is something that never can be "solved". The only real solution to these things is to play with premades so you can choose a shot caller and build teamwork
But by all means, prove me wrong! Show me a a screenshot of you having 2.5+ KD, 800+ average dmg dealt in ranked and STILL are hardstuck in, lets say Platinum after 200+ matches there and I will definitely agree that you seem to be smashing without ranking up, i.e your teammates must be total trash every game. But you will never find such proof. Why? Because people who play well and above average every match will rank up and people who complain about "bad teammates every game" more likely are equally bad (or good, whatever you prefer) but just to clueless to see it for the reasons I mentioned above.
