The matchmaking is one thing, but i wouldn't blame EA / Respawn for you not being able to hear things. If you're on PC than it's a mixed bag on what type of audio hardware you're using, consoles not so much. Than again not everyone uses the same hardware in headphones or headsets etc.
Without giving the details on what you're using to hear the game, no one would be able to help.
The only time I ever have issues is in those busy sound moments end game where everyone is literally fighting and throwing grenades using ults and everything else but aslong as you have fast movement and rely on visuals and the few sounds you do hear like players on the roof or climbing doors etc your usually fine

I will have to disagree. Ps4 pro with plantronics rig 800 headset. Works just fine in Fortnite cod etc. yet there are times where in Apex you can’t hear pathfinder right behind you. Bang runs by and no sound.
In season 1 Respawn acknowledged the audio issues. Yet since then there has been no patch publicly actually fixing these issues.

I have to agree with the audio problem. I feel like other sound effects are WAY over volumed when they should be quieter (ie gunshots, heal items, doors) footsteps are so quiet and very difficult to hear. My problem with being snuck up on is when other sounds are playing. It completely mutes all other audio and now 1 thing is blasting in my ear holes.

Cant hear until the last second. 20 feet away from me

The audio is delayed in this clip so you'll have to watch a few times. Either way you dont hear anything until its too late. Should hear the Path before he even comes in the window

This one is pretty bad. You see me close the door then the wraith opens it with 0 audio whatsoever. Having better equipment isnt going to fix a door not making audio
Another one
Even my team mate didnt hear anything
Glad I cant hear an Octane running right behind me but I can hear my team mate inside the building going up the zipline....

@mastiffslingerPathfinders and octanes are honestly the easiest legends to hear out of all legends between there mechanical noises as they walk and grapple/jumppad, im assuming yall are just older and have trouble hearing the higher pitches as I always hear them but sometimes if you watch streams or clips some pathfinders literally can launch themselves incredible distances and land right behind players so there literally arn’t any footsteps to be heard, i do this myself when I play pathfinder but im no match compared to the distance i see some pathfinders do XD i do like half the distance of what stormen can lmfao if you have never heard of StormenTV look him on yt and im sure he has a twitch, Diegosaurs is known to do this alot aswell in his videos, Mokeysniper has alot of pathfinder grapple guides and if you watch how smoothly he does his grapples you would understand what im saying, i would assume the higher rank you are in the better pathfinders you would be up against as why you don’t hear them, it also takes like what 2 seconds to grapple sling yourself behind someone on a roof?
Literally the only time I ever have audio issues are during the dropship you just see that glowing ball of light that destroys your ears than during those matches my audio is complete trash but other than those matches I hear everything great, my headphones arn’t the best in terms of high end expensive but I love them, they are Corsair RGB Void Pro USB, only like $60 at walmart but i got for $30 brand new because my uncle didn’t want them because he wanted some $500 pair lmao, i downloaded the software for them but honestly never messed with the equalizers much, then the speakers idk how much they costed but im assuming around $100 i just keep the bass all the way up and treble all the way down to hear footstep audio, maybe in your apex settings put sound effects on 100% and lower character voices and keep other players mics either on 50% or muted like i do half the time the less distractions you have the better, also tv background noises, people talking, etc in your household can contribute to not being able to hear footsteps thats about the only other time I have trouble hearing anything in general is when the tv is on a high volume lol

Game is fun, but development and bug progression is slacking. Getting paired with players from across the world so they glitch/lag across the maps(instead of pairing you to players from your region), difficulties control the overwhelming amount of people who are cheating and have admitted they can't keep up because the game is free and takes no time at all to make a new account, and the audio like explained has been an issue since season 1 and they've also acknowledged that, and yet have not released a patch for it, ontop of SBMM in casual which will kill this game, it doesn't need to be "try hard" every match. It is a BROKEN game. It's understandable that you want to defend a game that you like, but that doesn't mean that bugs and issues don't exist lol. And saying things like "im assuming yall are just older and have trouble hearing" and going on to talk about "pro/twitch gamers" being able to do something that they've practiced for hours(as they have the time with no real job) and meaningless personal story about you and your uncle buying headphones on this thread, just shows the true ignorance of our generation, people here are talking about problems they're experiencing, there is plenty of threads where you and others can talk about how great this game is, elsewhere.
