Improvements to the dummies in the firing range
Season 17's new Firing Range is awesome overall -- the only main personal feedback that I have for improving it is in terms of the experience with how dummies interact in fighting against the player for practicing (while say your friends aren't in the lobby). What's most notable to me are the following:
1) Toggle option for wallhacks from dummies spawned in via Dynamic Dummie Spawning
The default Dynamic Dummie Spawning currently highlights all dummies in red through walls or cover if they are close by. This should be an option that can be toggled on and off, not persistent, as it's less effective to fight against dummies you can already see coming from a short distance.
2) Separate Full Combat and Accuracy settings from Shooting
Currently the Shooting setting to make dummies fight against the player either involve a) dummies being in-place strafing left and right like how they were in the original firing range during Season 16, with their accuracy affected by the Easy, Medium and Hard setting; or b) dummies observing their spot and chasing after the player once spotted via the Full Combat mode.
The dummies at Full Combat mode seem to have low to medium accuracy, which makes them slightly less compelling to practice with. Having more options to tailor their accuracy aside from just trying to chase you would at least compensate for some of the dumb-bot behaviors that they have (like just crouching/standing in the open).
3) Toggle weapons + rate of fire for dummies
I remember seeing someone ask the Respawn devs if dummies can use abilities and that they've said it's not on the cards yet but could be open to that. As that could take much more additional time to develop, at the very least enhancing what dummies can currently already do should be ideal first.
In Full Combat mode I do notice some dummies can use Peacekeepers aside from the generic single-fire AR-like shots (which either involve them using an R301 or Hemlok skin but the shots they make do not resemble the shots those guns make at all). Offering them the options to use all current weapons (at random or specify a gun) and change how frequently how they shoot (since currently they take much longer to decide shooting the player) would make for even more dynamic fights with dummies especially when practicing within the buildings they arranged or even on spots from afar given how big the firing range is.
4) Toggle minimum and maximum number of dummies
The fixed dummies are too few while the dynamic dummies are inconsistent in the number of how much you'd face. Having some fine-tuning here rather than just pure randomization would be appreciated. Sometimes there'd be close spawns where 4 dummies would enter the agility course; sometimes none would be around despite setting to midrange.
5) Improve dummies running to doors/cover
Dummies seem to not account for doors properly; either there would be one dummie that can go through and make it, or more likely I'd have 4 dummies trying to push through a closed door and just standing nearby there. This should benefit practicing close fights inside buildings.
There are more, but for now this is what I can provide off the top of my head that's specific to the new firing range.
