Is anyone else getting no protection from the shield when downed

Question

Had a purple knockdown shield had it up and the enemy just shot me straight through it. I died with shield still at a hundred and we were both on the same ground.

it doesnt completely shield you especially when the enemy is close. Even at longer ranges there is a small ring around the shield that is exposed and easy enough to shoot.

As stated above, your feet and some of your body can be picked at near the edge of the shield.
