The device is called a "XIM". You can view their forums and judging by the number of members, they make up about 0.00001% of all FPS gamers. The overwhelming majority of console players are on controller.
These high level players have snap aim because they have 80+ days into the game and highly tuned muscle memory. That being said there are probably a few M&KB in high level play. I have noticed a few people in the over 4000+ games I have played. Predator lobbies and 50+ s4 wins. It is not as prevalent as people think. Some of the best people I have played with are clearly using a controller.
Usually you can tell by hearing "clacking" sounds if you are on voice chat. And honestly some of those players are terrible. The amount of configurations possible are mind boggling. It is not just plug and play to rekt. Again based off the XIM forums.
@Pallo420Any source for your statement that only 0.00001% of all FPS gamers using mouse and keyboard adapters?
I’ve said it in my last post. No matter how experienced some controller players maybe, they are still at a disadvantage compared to mouse and keyboard players.
Let me give you a simple example, A clean sprinter might win a race against one using dope, but it doesn’t mean he isn’t at a disadvantage. That’s why doping is forbidden in sports.

This just seems like such an insignificant problem to me, I've played games on both PC and console, and I've always felt that I played better on console. The advantages that are given to PC's are usually advantages that the user creates for themselves by either getting larger mousepads, better hardware in their computers, more defined resolution monitors, etc. Ultimately, If you play the game smart, then Johnathon who works at Petsmart isn't going to destroy you because he has a mouse hooked up to his console. After a certain level of play, the aim and/or aim assist doesn't matter even half as much as positioning and teamwork do. As far as I'm Concerned, let them play with a mouse and keyboard, whatever makes everybody comfortable. It isn't stopping me from taking the high ground and stomping them into the ground.

@DeathRaven_1983The XIM forum has 122249 members. Let's assume not everyone is a member and call the number 200,000 total XIMs across ALL games including Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. Google search says there are 638,000,000 console gamers worldwide. So that equates to: 0.000313% by rough guess. So my exaggeration was almost correct lol.
Or even say 150,000,000 console gamers that play ALL FPS games then: 0.001%.
Now how many are actually in Apex Legends? That would be tough to calculate and would likely be a lower percentage than my overall numbers.
Baddies like to blame their death on M&KB, I hear it all the time. In reality the odds of dying to one are extremely low."Let me give you a simple example, A clean sprinter might win a race against one using dope, but it doesn’t mean he isn’t at a disadvantage. That’s why doping is forbidden in sports."
I would call the XIM better running shoes in your example. Better quality running shoes are not against the rules. I would equate doping to using aim bots / wall hacks on PC.
- 6 years ago@Pallo420 It’s your pure guess then. I would not accept a guess as an argument.
Like what I said, the advantages of mouse and keyboard over controllers are unfairly huge.
That’s why Respawn, as well as developers of other competitive First-Person Shooters. doesn’t condone its use. - 6 years ago
The atmosphere that I find these M&K players is the problem. I can confirm without a shadow of a doubt that some of the top 10 players on Xbox have gained their status solely due to using mouse and keyboard. These guys don’t miss shots at all. I think it’s BS that some of the people here are stating it’s subjective when there’s clearly a huge advantage that M&K players are gaining over console players. These cheaters are gaining aim assist on mouse and key board when their pc counterparts are not. PC actually supports both input options and because of this it’s balanced. Controllers get aim assist; M&K players don’t. The only reason players on console would choose to play mouse and keyboard on console platforms is because they know it gives them an unfair advantage and their stats reflect that. Personally I think all these accounts that use M&K on unapproved platforms should get perma banned, because using non-supported plugins to play better is cheating. PERIOD.

I've played with controller on PC. Most people are just bad and looking for something to blame. The probability you actually encountered a KB&M user in console is slim to none.
Aim is important but position and game sense are much more important in Apex. Team shooting is also very important in ranked and usually the sweaty SBMM games.
