I think the main reason for this behavior is that no one cares about winning or getting good placement. During your first 50 or 100 levels, exploring, looting and winning is fun but after a while these things means nothing. The only reason why you play pubs is to kill die repeat. I dont blame the players, me included, for playing pubs like this. We cant demand people to play the game in a way that they dont find the most fun, just to be "nice" towards players who dont wanna play like this. They need to either force it or create natural incentives to do it. And forcing is a bad idea, which leaves us to natural incentives. Banners, rewards, or an honor system are possible ways to do it, but how effective it would be is another question hrm.
if you just want to fight and die, there are game modes for that. theyre called gun-run and arenas. play mix-tape. dont bother queueing into BR because you dont WANT to play BR, you want to play gun-run.

Everyone has their own playstyles and we need to respect that.
When I play pubs with my two friends we sometimes play hot drop Harry's but we decide before the match. A lot of times we contest a drop with one other team and play to win from there.
When I play solo pubs a play a mix of what I am given and stick with my team the best I can, unless it is an absurdly hot drop with 4+ teams. Then I will break off and do my thing. We can only influence the players we are given when solo que-ing so much, and sometimes we have to play to their abilities and or style. If they are not so good fast we have to help them and slow down, if they are better sometimes we have to follow their lead. If they play not so smart sometimes one just has to bite the bullet and leave them.
Playing Ranked solo, contest a drop yes, hot drop no, wait out the respawn timer yes, play to win always, same when I am with my friends in premade playing ranked.
Playing solo one does not always like what one gets but trying to play as a team member is all we can do.
The best suggestion I can give to other solo Q-'ers that hate the solo Q experience is to find some plyers the can occasionally play with to alleviate that.
- 3 years ago@Asmodeus566 i dont see how what you said has anything to do with what i said. like i said, there are gamemodes that cater to a fight-and-die mindset. maybe respect the BR players who are playing to win by queuing for mix-tape when youre in the mood to just fight.

I hear you.
Like I said everyone will have different play styles. In BR pubs hot dropping and wiping the floor with the two teams you contested a drop with and netting 4 kills for yourself and then getting thirded and your team is out in less than two minutes is how some people like to play. They like their stats going up or their KD going up etc. Mixed tape does not offer that.
We can only adjust how we perceive the game and how we play it when playing with others we do not know.
I would love it if all the Rambo types that acetylene torch hot drop and push anything and everything that moves all by themselves and die when they should have rotated with the team, play a LOT more mix tape but we both know that is not going to happen, so we have to deal with it the best we can.
Also the mix tape modes are fully broken so nope not playing them (unless just to warm up 1-2 matches only):
1. Teams are almost never full.
2. too many early quitters that makes point one even less bearable.
3. Control = spawn camping mode.
4. TDM is like going to a party where everyone leaves early and some just dont show at all.
5. The team balance is just null and void, no way should I solo Q-ing into these matches and being feed to the three stack TTV preds and my team is full of noobs.
Ranked BR is more fun than that and pubs BR after that.

A reply on that same level to that would be: "if you want to hide and avoid fights, then there is a game mode for that called "firing range" where you dont have to fight at all. Dont bother queueing into PvP modes because you dont want to fight anyways.". Ofc I would never say this and meant it because I that would be very stupid of me. But I do think you are doing exactly that I said I dont think we just cant do, i.e think that YOUR way of enjoying this game is the only right one and that everyone has to adjust to your view.
But jokes aside; your argument is basically that different playstyles belong in different game modes. Well then I could say "why do you play only for placement in causal? The appropriate game mode for that is ranked". Its exactly as subjectively arbitrary as your argument that causal should be all about winning. Who said that causal mode isnt made also for practicing fighting or trying out stuff too?
I just dont think we cant force certain playstyles OR level of seriousness ESPECIALLY in casual game modes. It must come naturally via incentives. Also, playing with premades solves all your problem. Then you can play with people who shares your ideas how to play the game.

@Balladalidila i didnt say i dont want to fight, theres a difference between running down fights and playing smart. just because im not acting like a [edited] doesnt mean i dont want to fight.
