Lets Talk About 'Skill-Based Matchmaking'?

do I have to derank/not touch ranked just to have a decent game in unranked? I cant wait for the season to end so my rank is decayed.

This is such a terrible change. I play with not very good players about 90% of the time I play this game and I honestly feel bad for partying with them because they have a miserable time. My friend just told me yesterday while we were playing that games are way harder and they're both barely able to get a kill.

I don't know what to * do? I can’t even play a match with my friends anymore cause this * makes them hate the game. They can’t do anything and I have to carry 3 times harder to get any wins. How are you able to make such stupid changes to a game in such a short time period. So many dumb changes killing such a good game and it’s not even a year old.

Hey there, I took a hiatus from posting to do some other things! But I am going to respond to you guys now.

Yes, it is the case that there is a hidden MMR in 'unranked' games so to speak. I find most people realize it a bit better when they start getting at least around 400 ADR. I am going to be guessing a bit by what you mean, but I think you are referring to backfilling. Yes, backfilled lobbies do happen and it is unfortunate for most involved. Average players can end up backfilling into higher tier lobbies to fill out the queue, which results in the higher ranking players having a tougher time coordinating as a team, and the lower ranking players generally find it harder to contribute depending on the variance in skill levels. 

At the moment, there is nothing you could do beyond express feedback and grievances on the Apex Legends Reddit and here. Beyond making new accounts, you will have to fight at where the SBMM tries to balance you. Even then, you eventually get balanced as you play more. Any lobbies you join with friends or randoms will be based around the highest hidden MMR. If I join your lobby, you'd fight a majority of diamond / predator players as it currently stands. Even if you just joined the game. I mention this in my original post sort of, it makes playing with my friends who aren't as good effectively impossible. They feel like a total waste of space and in a lot of ways it ruined the team play I came to enjoy from Apex.
