I do however understand what you’re saying. I couldn’t imagine being Predator tier player and every time you jump into a casual lobby you’re up against Pred/diamond ranked higher tier sweaty players when all you want to do is kick back with a beer, chill and rack some kills 😝
I’m not sure your suggestion would work however. It wouldn’t give lower skilled players the enjoyment....but if it stays the same players such as yourself don’t get the enjoyment.
My suggestion would be to have two separate public queues. One that has SBMM, and one that is entirely random.
The SBMM lobby would keep banding players of equal ability. And a non-SBMM lobby would allow players to face off against extremely skilled players, hopefully pushing themselves to improve their game without the penalisation that ranked gameplay has. I wouldn’t even want to suggest what kind of interest there would be in a system like that, or even the queue times. But surely it wouldn’t be hard for Respawn to implement something like that as a LTM for a week to crunch numbers etc

@JiboTVI get what you’re going for here, but with all the articulated wording in the original post and the following replies to others comments, all anyone else who disagrees with you will read is “higher tier player doesn’t like competing against other high tier players”....and I don’t mean to be an arse, that’s the reality.

I want to give people the benefit of the doubt to try and get over those underlying assumptions people have of "Pred bad." or "You just want kills!". I want to enjoy this game with my friends, and I'll keep saying that and talking with people who think otherwise in the hopes they might understand. I try my best not to forget that there are other people behind those forum avatars, and I appreciate you taking a moment.
I would like to play without it feeling ranked when the mode is casual, solo yes, but also with my friends. There are plenty of other reasons beyond that too, like how I think this can impact other players. But put simply, my story isn't just wanting to get kills and dominate. I do not think my suggestion would give lower skilled players more enjoyment per say - Just more room to grow by not having the standards you would expect of, say, a platinum level player right off the bat. Thanks for your suggestion though, I am not sure how well it would work just because that would introduce a third queue. Ranked, casual ranked, unranked. Might divide the numbers a bit too much - I did the math on another thread and that might not be too sustainable.
Thanks for taking the time to write and drop your feedback, I appreciate it.
