Lets Talk About 'Skill-Based Matchmaking'?

Here I am going to add on with my personal experience and I am mostly going to talk about ranked matchmaking. I am s4 gold 2 player (lvl 172) at the moment with 476 hours in the game, in s3 I was plat 4. 

My experience when solo queue-ing (which I mostly do) is that my teammates are below lvl 50 but the rest of the lobby mostly feel like they are my skill. The problem with this is that I can not build/ trust on my teammates to help me in a gunfight they either die as soon as they are spotted or they keep distance hiding in a building. This leads to my party dying early on and thus minus points. At the moment I am not good enough to handle 3v1's that's why I am pushing myself to learn/be better and to be able to do this so I won't have to rely on my teammates. This always leaves me frustrated when I am playing/ end of my session because I feel like I am not good enough at the game. But I also feel like this unfair because it is supposed to be a team oriented game.

Most of the time I hear that SBMM is problem for only the 10% top players but I know I am not a part of that group and yet here I am questioning the system in place right now. Can anyone let me know if I am just a case of a bad player thinking he is better then he is or if this has to do with SBMM. Maybe this is due to another problem but either way I wanted to share my experience thoughts on playing average level ranked games right now.

P.S. When I do get teammates that can hold their own I can easily get 1200+ dmg games.
