Lock "Dibsed" loot similar to crafting loot.

Too many times I dibs an attachment that's out if my loot route which is fine I'll grab it rotating that way. And I'm not talking about something 200m away, no im talking about something 50 to 75m away. Close enough to still grab it, however my random will just grab it and just crouch spam (teabagging). What's the point of dibs in that area then? Posterity?

So a suggestion: Lock dibsed loot.

How?

1.) When a piece of loot is pinged and dibsed  by an individual  it should then "lock" itself to that said individual for say 20-30s.

2.) If the piece of loot is further than 100m (hell even 75m) away from the individual it should not lock itself to prevent griefing.

3.) Dibsed loot, if undibsed, should not be able to be dibsed again by said individual for the next 5 -10s to prevent griefing.

4.)If you're in a pre-made loot lock should not be enabled as the assumption is there's communication between the party.

    - If it's 2 pre-made and a third random, loot lock should not work for the pre-made to prevent griefing, loot locking should work for the random however with the stipulations above.

This is just off the top of my head and can be adjusted accordingly. I'm not looking to shake up the game just a QoL for us solo queue players out there.

We shouldn't be penalized on our builds because of "trolling" or because the mindset of another player is "git gud".

Feel free to discuss below add ideas that can further refine it as well.

AL has done some odd shake ups in the past and I see no reason not to run this on a trial basis with the community.

Loot locking already exists in game via the vaults on stormpoint and crafted loot. I see no reason why expanding that couldn't be considered.

  • What about players who would dib everything they dont even want in that case ? :D

Yeah I would be probably doing this to you to be 100% honest and to other players too, would be fun. :D

    I SAY LETS DO THIS!

    Case and point..

Anyway you can't dibsif you're the one that  pinged the loot, so it wouldn't work if you're the original finder.

Dibsed loot only works if someone else pings it first, "finding it" so to speak. Then a second individual " dibs" it.

So you can go around spam pinging "magazine here" but it won't be a dibs.

Dibs would prevent players (such as yourself since you've stated you do this and would do this) from grabbing loot if someone else dibs it.

Did you not read the first post? I outlined some basic guidelines if it was pinged by someone else.

    Please read.

@matzesingt and as a previous comment has adequately shown that respect is few and far between.

Dibsing should now be changed to locking the loot making it yours, plain and simple.

Feel free to go over my original post and see some ideas regarding that and contribute ideas if you have any.

    Absolutely not.

Doing this would at times screw over your team mates far more than you not getting what you wanted.

Imagine there is an armor you need because you've been shot. Now your team mate has that marked and it's locked. You die.

No. Not even once. Completly 100% BAD idea.

  • @DrWizardo If you're pinging an armor piece and you're both in need of it, just because you pinged dibs slower does not mean it's a bad idea.

@Zesteriall Yes it is and you misread what i said.

What I said was basically: if you're in a fight and need a swap having something be pinged is complete *. Let's say your team mate is 200m away doing jack *. But he/she pinged it. Or even better team mate is knocked. So you both die.
    Absolute garbage idea.
  • @DrWizardo If you read my post loot locking wouldn't work after a certain range. If you're in the middle of a fight noone is gonna be pining a shield for swap that's off comms anyway.
