LSTAR

Giving it an extended mag and a barrel stabilizer next season? It already has braindead recoil, double damage headshots, and the projectiles are big enough to clip enemy heads even if your aim is off a bit. Imma predict it: People are about to have a real bad time between this gun and the prowler next season.

  • I don't know about that.  It has spent all of its life as the ginger stepchild.  I think it deserves a little time to shine before it gets hit with the nerf hammer.  I do accept that it is probably causing issues in Arena but is it really that bad in BR?

Not sure why its classified as an LMG though as its useless at range, for me anyway.  It really should be an SMG, and I guess as an SMG people would prefer the Volt over it.

I am fine with the dmg since the recoil is quite harder than the R301 for instance but what I hate about is how the bullets just fills the screen with energy bolts even after the nerf. Noobs jump at you and sprays in hip fire as they jump around like crazy frogs. They cant see you and you cant see them because of all L-star rounds all over the screen . Sure in the majority of these situations, the best player will most likely win anyways because skill triumphs that too but a noob can now prevent a high elo player from double hs with a wingman or one-clip with a R99 and even get in some random hip fire hits by chance.

But hey, thats the direction Respawn is taking this game. From a BR where fights were determined by the best aim and the best movement, Respawn clearly want to add random bs like that to cater to low-to-mid skilled players. Just look at the recent Legend design and the removal of tap strafing etc

  • This gun is a joke currently, game goes from shooter to spray paint app.

@yojzzxzto be honest I am more concerned about constant buffs and nerfs.

In this game, you basically can't be certain about anything - legends, guns, game mechanics etc.

I think I saw somewhere in forums an official reply from EA side (mods or something) that you just need to be able to adjust, in other words, Apex require not only sound mechanical and logical skills but also the ability to play any gun, any legend, any tactics at any given time. This is to be honest, not bad in my opinion as it lowers the risk of some players dominating the game with the same approach over and over again. See quake for example (to a certain extent, guys there do adapt as well but maybe not as much).

I have been on both sides of the L-star gang:

At first, it was fun to block everyone's vision with the old version, yet I still did not win all of the fights as I lost track of enemies as well.

Now you can actually hit it in mid/far range as I don't see a significant bullet drop if any for it - just pair it with 3x or 2-4x and you are a rapid sniper (given you can recoil control it).

Also recently people still do overpower me with 3 shoot Eva or Wingman in close range so L-star is in my hands, not an ultimate close-range weapon either.

I am pissed when I am fried from distance by it, but at the same time, I can do the same. So to be honest I would opt EA just leaving guns as they are so people can actually consistently play them instead of just 301 and Volt.

@Eshshshss I feel like the bullet drop is one issue. Single tap mid to long range LStar is a too-effective cheese tactic at this point.  My opinion, for the little it is worth, is that the LStar has been made a bit too strong and needs some dialing back.  But I love that they decided to give this gun a new life, and expect that Respawn will further adjust it in the future.

  • I know you cut the half projectile of VFX but I still can't see the enemy. It is literally a pain for me to shoot the enemy especially in Arena ranked matches. And I am not kidding, 75% of my enemies picking that gun in the first round.

Idk, I just needed to share this feedback with the devs. I would get downed to underground if I shared this on Reddit. I hope someone from the Dev team will see this thread.

Last season before changes i was using circle optics to solve that problem, my favorite crosshair was 2x-4x variable AOG. It worked well, but It doesn't show overheating level though.

    Respawn please fix.🤔
