LTM Idea: Any Legend, Any Class

An LTM where Legends don't determine your class, rather you get to select class separate from Legend.

I wonder what people would play certain legends as the most? 

For certain quest credits, you'd have to play legend as their class, not with this mode's any class thing. For weapon quest credits, any legend or class mix will work because it's about the weapons not the legends or classes. Not abilities. Ability based require proper class on legend. Weapon based doesn't matter the combo. Etc. Right?

Matches as certain legend might be able to do alternate class, but matches as certain class should require proper legend. Right?

    I can see we are not going to agree on this.

    And your use of shallows is misplaced. Restricting classes/playstyles to a certain few characters forces tough decisions that have trade offs, which makes selection more deep thought.

    @MrGreenWithAGun With more access comes tougher choices. What combo will be used?
    Now if everyone gets banner crafting regardless of support class, which they won't do, then it would be the "tough choice" you are talking about.
    Until then, it's a shallow game because there are only 7 Legends I can play as. The 6 supports and Crypto. Banner crafting, or the ability to grab from a very long range. I wish Loba's Black Market and Alter's Gift from the Void could grab banners.

    Skirmishers: avoid like the plague
    Controllers: avoid like the plague
    Assault: avoid like the plague
    Recon: avoid like the plague, except Crypto who has easy access to banners via drone
    Support: The only way to run it. Banner crafting is essential or everyone will be permadead. The only real thing I can do is bring my allies back. I am always outmatched. Don't care whether they are just better or are hackers. My loss is on average 45/15, so I can't shoot squat. Thanks Centurylink, the worst ISP in existence. Literally the only one that provides for our area.

    Your concept reduces trade offs as you cherry pick the best of each category (class, tactical, ultimate, etc.).

    We just disagree on the value that the current system offers. I think it was done extremely well.

    @MrGreenWithAGun The current system is very limiting. Not as fun as I'd like. You can't support your team if you can't at least bring them back. Be an anchor.
    Revival... although I'm displeased with the loss of banners and beacons, I'm... ok with it because I can be an anchor as any class, as any legend. Everyone is a support in revival, you just don't get banners and beacons to do it.
    Then the final rings, no one can respawn. That's my biggest issue. That's where I normally deploy some MRBs and be the banner master. Can't do that in revival.

    If only they'd give everyone banner crafting instead of requiring support.



    That's not the only thing though.
    The way I use Valkyrie, I'm a recon, not a skirmisher.
    I will deploy the balloons and use my ultimate as often as possible to find nearby enemies with her skydive passive.
    If only she could use all her fuel to do a mini-launch and mini-skydive, more access for her recon passive.
    Hold jump while grounded and full of fuel to charge launch then miniskydive.
    Meaning it can only be used roughly once every 15 seconds, as the jetpack needs to recharge after landing before you can do it again.

    And Vantage, her passive is a weaker version of the recon passive, but allows her to mark a target for everyone to track. Her tactical is mobility, and her ult is damage.
    Some people might want to swap for Assault or Skirmisher class as her since she already has the sight.
    Still wondering what they'll do for the Skirmisher's second perk since all the other classes have something. Recons are kind of broken in Mixtape since they are the only ones with a true benefit.
    Assault: everyone has infinite ammo, no boxes
    Support: constant respawning, no boxes
    Skirmisher: no perk, can they spot the mixtape care packages?
    Controller: no ring so no shield, no ring consoles
    Recon: no survey beacons, but they have threat vision while aiming
    Could at least give controllers 5% less damage taken while with their fortifications or inside a zone controlled by them. Or something like that.
    Assault: given an extra grenade on spawn? Especially Fuse.
    Support: When they add the ability to throw healing items as grenades, if it applies to shields, then Supports will have a mixtape perk.
    Skirmisher: I still have no clue what would fit.

    I wish Valkyrie could use her scope more than just while skydiving. Perhaps a 75m range in line of sight sort of deal?
    I use her as recon not as a skirmisher. Ok, sometimes I like the jetpack, but normally I'm just biding time to use the skydive spotter. Rockets are normally useless.
