@Monhulio And here we are 2 weeks later, I completely stopped playing for the reason I mentioned earlier. It's just not convenient for me to wait out the map I wholeheartedly dislike. People don't like being forced into things they don't enjoy, and it shows.
- @7xRelax I really don't mean to be rude with this statement, but you don't seem to track the game much. There's a LTM where you drop in worlds edge with a P2020 and a white shield, tomorrow at 1pm est it becomes a blue shield, and later it will be purple, then an evo. It's a test to see if this feature should go core. Hinted at more tests in the future to shake up gameplay. If you don't want to provide feedback on possibly not dropping empty handed that's your choice. Long story short, you are getting your worlds edge map in easy pick atm.
My statement stands. No other battle royale game lets you "choose" which map to play in. We already got a 3 way split still (Duos, Trios, Ranked). We don't have the population for it, OR THEY WOULD LIKELY DO AS YOU ASK. And sad news for you, the way things are progressing, Kings Canyon is likely season 5 map, but with map changing details similar to worlds edge. Hopefully widening the map.
SO that actually means IF season 5 map is KK, and IF you choose to play, you would actually be happy with the rotation because it takes you back to Worlds Edge. If you don't play this season, your loss. Can't please everyone.
All I can recommend is: try the Limited Time Mode with shields and pistols for guaranteed worlds edge (if you want), and wait for season 5 info to see if they change Kings Canyon enough in a manner that pleases you.
Otherwise, the rotation brings back worlds edge instead of season 5 KK, which is actually the map you want so....... Is your rotation argument still valid?
PS. You wouldn't be able to even request a specific map in any other BR, so you WOULD be forced into something you "don't like".Also not being rude, but at this point its just stale and seemingly pointless. The LTM, for now at least, allows people to play the map they want but pushing KC on us in season 5 seems silly (in lieu of other words) to me. Your statement is still not as solid to me also. We could do selection especially on console especially if there was cross-platform. Can't "please" everyone but i guess when the game gets stale and most of the player drop it for other games then I guess you REALLY wont have the player base for it. Tweaks to KC wont make it We and it almost makes me ask why did they made WE to begin with if they were going to just push it away even though data shows that after season 2 it greatly increased player base and gameplay. I'd honestly even rather they create a whole New map instead of trying to choke us with KC which is not only less fun to play on, but artistically stale looking (to me at the very least). Also, the map rotation argument would still be valid even after season 5 if they push KC because we still wouldn't want to rotate to the map we don't like.....obviously that is why we want selection or just getting rid of KC ()which I still feel is a lackluster map) or even both areas for new things.....but it seems no one cares and respawn will do what it wants so many people will have to find fun somewhere else. Sad but simple
@Andrexal300Again, what if duo's and trio's alternate each on their own timeline between the two maps? You wouldn't be able to full squad as you please, but you WOULD get your map selection technically speaking.
I would also wait to see what happens in season 5, KK or no. We honestly have no idea the full scope of what "is or isn't good enough" for a map change until we have it. Outside of new character, nothing else has actually been confirmed. Only theorized, datamined info and teasers.
Will we get a 3rd map? Eventually, and if we are being misled again it could be this coming season, if not perhaps next season.
I would really suggest you "reflect" on the idea / mindset that "they don't listen" or "they push stuff on us we don't want". The entire reason rotations were put in was BECAUSE people wanted to play KK again. Then they played and realized it wasn't nearly as good as they remembered and a full reversal occurred. They put it in as rotation because playerbase size, maybe that will change when the hinted at crossplay feature finally hits (dev hinted at it coming really soon, but unknown how soon that is).
Revenant got a massive buff from both loud feedback and data details. Mirage getting buff if not a rework. Potentially lifeline too. Players ask for KK and get it (they discover they didn't want, but still they got what they asked for). Bloodhound got a much needed buff, Gibby too. KK after dark got removed from rotation playlist, rotation time on KK got reduced. Crypto (if not all characters that can proc threat detection) are getting an ability to increase damage a spotted enemy takes. And a fair number of other things they "responded to feedback on".
A response to feedback isn't always instant, it isn't always in the way any specific person wants or thinks it should occur, and claiming "no one cares" is a narrow view. Remember, just because a handful of us post on the forums or reddit, does not make any of us part of the majority that feels any particular way. Many of the majority don't even actually post or comment TBH.
Can they tweak the way the rotation works? Yes. Should the remove it? No, as using the same argument you just used, playing the same map for 3-4 months can be very "stale and uninteresting". Could they eventually add map selection when the playerbase supports it / crossplay comes along (with the PC cheaters it will entail?) yes.
You want a prime example of why we can't have map selection right now? I tried selecting regular rotation during this event with a full squad. We couldn't even start a single match. The fact that this is actually possible proves they are right in being cautious with any additional "map selection" methods. Especially since we now have 3 permanent game modes. Adding map selection right now? Would make that a 5. It's duo's / trios, KK / WE, or my suggested combination rotation of the two. You can't and won't get both of those any other way until crossplay."Sad but simple".
@MonhulioI actually did play the event yesterday and alternate between the two in order to play WE and thoroughly enjoyed it. As for your "other BRs argument" it's pointless. I don't play other BRs and don't find them fun at all. The solution is very easy for me, if I'm not having fun I spend my money elsewhere where I do.
@7xRelaxJust thought of a solution to your complaint. What if duo's and trio's alternated between each map at a similar rate? Would that be satisfactory? Then, theoretically you can always choose which map, though you can't quite full squad in it as easily. While duo's is in KK, trios is in worlds edge, and it swaps over at a similar rate as currently. Still 3 modes, better map selection.
