You can see such system in Valorant and it makes game stale despite having more maps than Apex because people for some or another reason decided that map X is not suitable for game mode Y and constantly dodge it = you have 0 experience playing it and when it comes about experience is horrendous.
Never understood people complaints about maps - well I do, they just don't admit they are lazy and inflexible.
Each map in Apex dictates overall / general play style:
- KC = be fast to 3rd party / defend or get away from being 3rded
- Broken moon = long rotations from one fight to another, loads of choke points to keep in mind when rotating
- E district = lots of camping places and basically just choke points in terms of rotations = not a matter if you will have to get through one rather when you will have to
- WE = map where action happens usually in 2 out of 4 quadrants and you need to adjust accordingly / keep rotations to the end zone open if you survive that far
- Olympus = open map where you can be sniped from far, need to have cover at all times basically, can't just run around safely
- Storm point = one sided map, need to have strategy in place (start high and work your way down or vice versa), be able to fight from lower ground / gain elevation fast
That's how I view in short Apex maps and adjust accordingly. There are some legends imo that legit player can play in most maps e.g. Pathfinder, Ash, Wraith, Alter, Valk because of their mobility and for the most part in soloq that is what matters the most now but for best results you have to keep in mind later zone fight where mentioned legends basically become a burden / have no way of really defending spacing so ideally you have teammates that cover that part. Yet the point is you can't just play say Mirage on all maps as his only "trick" is to trick people and have amazing aim to get you out of 1v3 which you will lose 100% or there about.
Now you got me thinking and I would almost want in pubs to experiment with exact opposite = people choose legends and only after that you get random pick of a map. Would be fun imo.
