Maps

I'm so tired of this map rotation!!!!! I only get to play 2 hours a day, if I'm lucky, and this 4 hour map rotation is really bumming me out! I have 3 favorite maps that I like playing and back when it was 1 map a day for ranked I knew if I would play that night or not. Now I have to decide if I even want to chance it when its gonna be E district until 10 pm and then Storm Point  or World's Edge for the last hour I get to play. I hate Storm Point. Just go back to one map a day so I know what days to skip.

    Like:

    • it is another map that adds variety to the game
    • it is unique due to its verticality / slope and thus asks for different approach, different legends, again variety
    • gravity cannons are cool addition
    • multiple interesting PIOs most having multiple levels
    • various ways to rotate around the map, can come up with surprising routes enemies do not expect

    Don't like:

    • cheaters on this map
    • matchmaking on this map
    • crybabies on this map

    😁

Players has a squad but plays 2 h at most a day.

Based on comments is at best Plat 2 in ranked because drop zones are not mentioned.

Despite being one of a million (or whatever number of players) and playing basically nothing -> asks for a change.

Dude are you like some sort of a dictator or your mom and dad didn't teach you what "entitled" means or how to overcome hardship? You might be up for surprise in life with such attitude :D

Stop crying on forums given your limited time, go learn Stormpoint.

Map = field = environment of competition = same for every competitor. Difference between competitive players and crybabies = competitive players adapt, make it work.

Geeez how many entitled people are there? EA just create pay to pick map product, I am sure that will sell like sh%t to flies. Next product -> pay to get competitive advantage (basically legal cheats of sorts e.g. crybabies can have 2 lives in one game and can respawn themselves if they feel like it). Make this game more friendly to casuals! Let's go!

I can understand people enjoying Storm Point, I'm not trying to yuck anyone's yum, I just miss those weekends where I could play my favorite map for hours without having to budget my warm up time or thinking if I play a tdm for fun then I'm wasting my time with a good map.

I love E-District, it's my favorite map. Its perfect for sniping, plenty of loot spots, great to lock down a spot in the end but not completely impenetrable so you can't just camp to win. I do miss it being night though, it gave it a cool vibe.

I hear your criticisms. As a patient looter who only engages toward the end game... I guess you can see why I would like the size and layout. And my preferred engagement is mid-range - something that map was made for. As you noted when talking about the vast open spaces.

On the subject of not seeing enemies for long stretches and "games take too long..." I feel like the map has good mobility options with man canons and mobile jump towers, but it was better before they removed the tridents. As far as finding fights: be a scan legend, or have one on your squad and you will never not know where enemies are. If you've played the game (and the map) long enough then you'll know without even having to scan. People are idiotically predictable.

"Everyone always lands in the same spot and I'm tired of it." With this I cannot disagree. But I have to say that in my experience this is not a Storm Point problem. It's an Apex Legends problem. Any map you care to name. I can't even get away from that mentality in ranked, although I have to imagine that if you get high enough then players get smart enough and experienced enough not to drop always hot and always center-of-map. Maybe not though. I'll never know.

You dislike E District as well, if I read you right. Three things you hate there? Anything at all that you like?

    Hate:

I hate how big the map is, I hate dropping and spending 15 minutes running to the ring without seeing any enemy squads. The games take too long.

I hate the open spaces. Half of the games I play are just running up hills or through open spaces, there's hardly any cover and the good spots to land are few and far in between.

Everyone always lands in the same spot and I'm tired of it. You're right about no one landing on the edges, and if I do try to land on the edge, just to loot an unpopulated area the run to the ring takes forever (which goes back to no. 1)

    Don't hate

    I'll get back to you...

I get that. I guess I'm arguing for more regularity. I wanted to play last night and the way my squad  plays is that we warm up with TDM or gun run and then do a few duos until we're ready to rank. But it was E-district for only the first hour I'd be on. The old system was one map per day and I could plan my days around it, I have a limited amount of time to play and a ton of other things that I have to do and then go to bed at a certain time to be up for work. I just don't like the this new way of rotating maps.

  • I understand that not every map is for everyone, but consider that you hate Storm Point, but someone else loves it.

For example, I hate Olympus, World's Edge and constant cage fighting in King's Canyon, but I love Broken Moon.

    Everyone likes different things. :)

  • Let's do a little therapy here. Name three things you hate about Storm Point, but also name three things about SP that you DON'T hate. Or maybe even like.

    I'll go first.

    Hate about Storm Point:

    1. My jump master always drop one of the same three or four center-of-map POIs. Command, Falls, Ceto, Pylon. Always the same. You could set your watch by it.
    2. No one uses the edges of the map unless the circle closes there.
    3. Spiders, Flyers, and Prowlers. They're not evil. Just annoying because of their stupid movement and the fact that the noise always gives me away when I go by them.

    Like about Storm Point:

    1. Probably the best map in the portfolio for getting a good mid-range poke going.
    2. Good mobility options, even without the tridents (although I would very much like to see them come back).
    3. The Beast is a great POI. Aesthetically and in terms of gameplay. I feel like I can't lose when the circle closes there.
