Massive cheater alert with 154 accounts

So i bump into this Achuang guy, literralys takes down all my team snapshotting a longbow (had over 20 kills on his own).

I look him up on Origin and he has 154 accounts....

EA, perhaps a more effective system to ban cheaters and avoid them coming back?

Thanks....

  • Hey  @kartikins, @kartikins

The name & shame rule is a general rule used by more forums and company's for example: Blizzard, Jagex.

They don't want to start a witch hunt or promote public shaming.

I stand behind this rule even with proof, there is no place for this on AHQ

If someone is cheating, he should be reported with the in-game tool or to EAC

The player will receive action taken towards his account when reported correctly.

AHQ is a place to ask questions or to share tips and tricks, not shaming others.

If you disagree with this rule, i recommend talking to a EA Community Manager.

    @Zeelmaekers

It's a matter of opinion... I admit I feel that full on doxing (revealing real name and address) is probably going a bit too far and shaming a pseudonym probably seems a little unconstructive to some. However a partial dox with the pseudo as well as town and country name imo would be acceptable.

The truth is this - in game reporting DOES NOT WORK and NEVER WILL. Too many people will report good players out of ignorance or frustration to be reliable in itself, so there will have to be a real human beings verifying those accounts to be sure (EAC scans for 3rd party software running or intefering with the game, and is not going to suddenly start detecting things it missed because people have reported that player) and it seems clear to me that the reources have not been made available for humans to review the reports.

The only viable solution is HARDWARE banning people to prevent creating numerous free accounts... but I assume EA don't want that as they are scared of discouraging people from spending money on their services and Origin... after all cheaters buy things too.

Its useless boasting about banning 500K or 1000K players if those players can be up and running on a new account 15 mins later with no expense.

If AHQ is not the place to name and shame, are you suggesting someone should create a Apex Legends Cheaters subreddit? Unless of course you wish to explain exactly how I am wrong and how there are teams of people looking at every in game report we make and manually banning those accounts. Because so far as I can tell, in game reporting is a joke and pointless, simply there to make legit players FEEL like they are not powerless and that something is being done.

    Hey @kartikins

Like i said in my previous post.

I do not agree that AHQ should get use to Public shame players.

If you do not agree with this rule please contact a EA Community Manager.

You currently agreed with this rule by creating a AHQ account.

AHQ cannot be use to debate to change rule's.

There are known cases of players receiving hardware bans after being caught cheating on Apex Legends.

They also block account creation when a user isn't allowed to play the game any more.

You can see the effectiveness of the anti-cheat in latest blog post.

  • @Fawned18 Thnks! I am not trying to have a go at Zeelmaster (re-reading my post it sounds a little confrontational) but I disagree strongly with what he says.

We all play Apex for enjoyment, cheaters spoil that for everyone by not RESPECTING the rules... imo that means they also forefit the right to be shown the same basic respect and decency and therefore shaming is perfectly reasonable. "Do unto others" as they say.... if a person behaves like the other 59 players on the server are nothing but f**kwads whose enjoyment they can ruin for their own ego driven bs, then why in hell should we show them any respect or courtesy in return?!

The current system clearly isn't working as I run into multiple cheaters every day now (and thats not counting all the games where I don't get far enough in the round to run into them or am one of last two teams so cannot spec the players to be sure)

  • I just quit playing it isn't worth all the bs they are handing us. . . . .

Yes I agree to the concept. But if this cheater that you reported has created over 150 new accounts, do we just keep reporting him over and over again?

Does your rule of "tolerance" apply to someone who just goes around the ban by creating a new one over and over and over again? We are talking about a guy who has been reported hundreds of times and who has created hundreds of new accounts... Surely this type of person can not be treated the same way as a regular one time cheater?
