Mastiff and EVA-8 Season 5 Thoughts

The Shotgun meta has greatly changed. Not everyone can use a Mastiff and not everyone can use a EVA-8.

These two weapons have their own skillset and it shows. And by the meta, I mean there's really no shotgun meta anymore. Before, everyone used to have a Peacekeeper.

Now it is personal preference. There are players doing very well with a Mastiff and the other half doing even better with an EVA-8. In the online tournaments. EVA-8 got played a lot. Same for the Mastiff. They were both fairly used and it didn't matter which weapon you had. 

This was a great change in the shotgun meta and I for one look forward to see how that continues. 

I do think it's great that players and pro will change their shotgun to the Peacekeeper if they see it though. That is how it should have been because PK out classed both of these weapons. 

There will still be debate over Mastiff or EVA-8 but the real answer is your own play style. 

Remember this one thing, EVA-8 is better for tracking if using it as Auto. Double Tap is good for Burst Damage but has a slower fire rate and loses that tracking potential. Mastiff is better for people who ADS a lot more often than hip fire. The more you ADS with a Mastiff, the better the damage it will do. This means the better your aiming is, the more better you will be with a Mastiff. On the other side, EVA-8 is better hip firing over the mastiff as long as you have that tracker style aim.

And Mozambique still sucks until it gets a 4th shot. 😛
