Match Making has caused me to quit

I've been playing since season 1.  I have about 6k games played and my KDR is 0.50  - I am terrible at the game.  I know there are people out there like me because every once in a blue moon I get in a looby where everyone feels about my same skill level and when that happens it's a ton of fun. I don't win often, but even when I lose I feel like I had a chance to win.

However, the majority of the time I get in lobies like the last one I just got in.. I get melted by someone with masters and 20 bomb badges.

I should never have to play anyone like that in skill based match making.  Never.  Match making should be done by lifetime KDR and strictly by KDR.

I used to buy the premium battle pass, I used to buy tokens.. No more.  I am not going to spend another day letting apex make me angry because I have to play against people I have no chance of beating 1v1.

Uninstalling.

  • @Qbikke Yep, come back to enjoy a game and check the state of the mm/game. As of this weekend it’s all still the same. But, I’m now thinking this MM might be done. The sheer number of cheaters posting their hacks on YouTube is crazy. I’m guessing strike packs are the new scuff controllers.

No, the matchmaking in this game is not satisfactory.

No, using KDR will not make it any better. First, KDR is not the focus of battle royale, and second, KDR is an easily manipulated number. My KD last season was somewhere between 4.5 and 5.0. And let me assure you, I am no Shroud or ImperialHal or even close. I'm just like you except I make a point to be harder to kill and I'm more than willing abandon idiot squadmates, and to quit a match I can't win rather than give some weasley little playstation squeaker a free kill for no good reason.

Most players I see who have very low k/ds have them because they conceive of the game as "drop, move toward engagement, let chips fall where they may." If this isn't you then stop reading here. If it is, and I know for a fact it's 80% of the playerbase, then all I can say is that you have to shake all the habits you picked up in Overwatch or Halo or Cod or any other arena shooter where getting a kill is all that matters even if you have to die five times to get it. Battle Royale is a long game that requires an attention span and a game plan more sophisticated than "engage at the earliest opportunity and repeat until dead."
