Matchmaking is broken as of today

What is the deal? Yesterday my 6 year old son and I were being placed in matches around the 1/4 - 1/2 up the left side of the bell curve in skill, and today suddenly it’s saying we’re 1/2 - 3/4 down the right side of the bell curve. We went from playing with players in silver and gold MAX,like us,  to today playing with masters. Something is broken with this event. It’s not just the event either. Even playing fun run we’re being put into much the same lobbies and getting utterly wrecked by sweats.

    This was my experience as well, played out over the first two weeks of the season. Though oddly enough, no matter where the graph put me on the skill curve, and no matter where the grey area fell, my enemies were always brutal. I assume that means that the game is filled with new players who are not actually new at all and the system is just flailing around while it tries to figure out where it is that people really belong. In the end though, where we all belong is filling in the master lobbies when there aren't enough actual masters to go around. That's how it works.
