Matchmaking is broken!
So I play with two of my friends and we play mostly Pubs. We are gold level players. Never climbed above gold 1. And yet, in pubs, we keep betting annihilated by players with 4k, Master/Predator ...

You are completely right. But... there's a "but" coming.
In a game without SBMM I wouldn't even think to complain.
But Respawn keeps saying that their matchmaking system places me in lobbies with players of similar skill.
Well then, step aside LG_ShivFPS and ACEU. There's a new sheriff in town 🙂
I also understand that players of higher skill would wait a while longer for a match.
But what kind of "Fair" Matchmaking system would place a 1.1 KD/R, 2800 max dmg player with Shiv_F*king FPS and others like him.
The way I figure it, there's a few reasons why this happens.
1) Lower the time it takes for Highly skilled players to find lobbies. Can't find enough players with similar skills for Shiv to play with? Fill the lobby with ~1 KD/R players or lower.
2) Most popular streams are pub stompers. * on their livelihood will probably drive them away from Apex. I like to see iiTzTimmy kill half the lobby as much as the next guy, but let him try that with Masters and Diamond level players. But that doesn't work quite as well for Timmy because he'll lose some of his viewers. Perhaps move on to another game. Warzone maybe?
@MariusRZR696 there might be some truth in what you are saying about the sheriff - maybe SBMM takes into account the most recent events and stats. E.g. you win a game or have a high kill game, next one will be a tougher lobby for you as game things you are too good for the previous day lobby now. At the same time pro players (assuming you talk about them) get smacked in public lobbies (I think that does happen, they are not godlike after all) - so at that point your stats might be comparable and yours might be even better.
I am quite sure game is not taking into account you "whole" stats over multiple splits and seasons etc. otherwise that would level out over eternity and would keep placing much better players in weaker lobbies as their progress would be way ahead of "average" stats.

Agreed. My K:D went from about 3 last season (and every other season), to 1.5 this season. Game is ridiculous right now.
I really don't know what to say anymore.
Just today I played against people that had: 33,000 kills, 11,000 kills, 20,000 kills... In public matchmaking!
How me and my Noob-Team(tm) can ever compete with that. Mind You that very often I am matched with people that do not understand pings and when I ping better armor they just ignore it and run around with white armor! It's impossible to go against such good players that have put hundreds of hours into the game.
It's like putting a bully into the kindergarten and call it "fun" or "engaging".
This is just an example of one of many such lobbies. Usually most of the times there is at least one 11k player in it that clears at least 8-12 players. "FUN".
