You said you’d change the ranked matchmaking this season. Played 10 games, zero kills. Killed every time by a 4k master diamond badge guy. I’m in the lowest rank and I can’t get a kill?? What?Played pubs,and somehow it was even harder. Killed twice in a row by some guy with over 10000 kills. Insane.if it’s not fixed when I try again next week I’m just not gonna play this game. This * is so not fun. Ps. my teammates died went to craft banner & it said “you’ve already used this” & couldnt craft..because I crafted a battery earlier 😂😂 Great design. 🙄

You're completely right. No way that there are still triple masters in bronze III. That would be ridiculous

@Benjamin8894For the "SBMM", (if we can even call it that), everyone got reset to rookie, and so we're in the same lobbies as preds. Its best to wait a week or two before getting into ranked.As for the crafters, that was changed to prevent zone healing, which they also changed zone to now go, "hey... you're camping", before it kills you.What I would of done if I was able to, was make the crafters turn off when out of the ring, making them fully unuseable, even when its in a heat shield. It won't stop crafting if it was activated before being engolfed by the ring, but it will stop any future crafting while its outside the ring. Disabling the crafter outside the ring was even suggested by several players and pros, as disabling it solves the out of ring camping.The problem they created is that not only would you get squad wiped by a fast closing ring, but you can't craft anything useful to survive while in the ring, and any weapons locked in Rampart's town takeover on World's Edge is fully up for grabs by anyone. I heard its limited to one per player, however imagine full sweat teams landing there, but still. Part of the charm was earning the crafting materials.Other changes they could of done are:- Disabling the heat shields in ranked- Make healing items less and less effective, the more its used outside of the ring, until the player moves back into the ring- Make the ring damage slowly increase for those camping outside of it- Certain crafting options becomes disabled while the crafter is out of the ring, or is crafted by the team too many times; aka med kitsInstead we got:- Make team survival, (in a game where players mainly play as a solo anyways), more impossible. I thought we'd all have one use at the crafter, but if its going to be one use for the whole team, that's not it chief. However, even one use per player would be too limiting as well.

@Midnight9746 predators are a very very tiny minority so it doesnt matter we supposedly are in their lobbies because there are way more rookies, silvers, gold than predators.Secondly I don't think they completely removed sbmm no game ever did preds still fight against high elo players.But I can attest this matchmaking is a solo q killer again... played like 20 games and my team never ever won a single fight against opposing team. It is so bad I just play a couple of games and then go watch videos it is more fun.Something is very very wrong.

I don't do ranked. I started playing arenas only. Was pissed when they got rid of that. Mixtape took a bit to adjust, but I play that. BR and LTM play is maybe 2%of my overall play. The matchmaking used is abysmal. If I am in a party, I'm sent into God level PC lobbies, and I am on a switch. Avg final scores for TDM. 8 to 50 and I'm on the losing team with 6 kills. Gun run, I'm lucky to make it to shotguns. Control, final scores avg 52.5% to 100% I'm on the losing team. My kdr was 2.4. Since S20 dropped, it is now down to 0.9. Thanks in part to game / console crashes, ALC malfunctions, severe server lag, no audio feedback and * poor matchmaking. I'm top dog usually on my team, so not necessarily a skill issue. I'm not god, but I can hold my own. The cheating is way worse. Reporting just takes away from the game. Only streamers can get someone live banned. Just a gndn feature so the devs can claim They are doing something about the cheats. Pubs should have better matchmaking. Or, at the very least, made so one has a chance to win a match, rather than being cannon fodder for cheaters and preds. Never get to do a full match like that anyway since everyone quits in disgust. I dare not leave, even if the last man standing, as I get abandoned penalties. So I run around trying to get killed as fast as possible just to end the madness. And my kdr goes to crap. EA was complaining that their revenues are down. Do they honestly believe this crap will take in the cash? I'm not inclined to spend anything unless they do something to improve the issues of the game that have been posted about for years.

Apex doesnt use SBMM. It uses EOMM. It is the worst form of rigging a matchmaking can have.

@Anjunakrokus Okay, by this point, a lot of players should be in higher lobbies. I'm still in silver, as I'm taking it slow, but the matchmaking clearly doesn't seemed to have been changed. Its still unbalanced and thus unplayable.

I agree that the matchmaking is utterly borked. I truly have not had an actually balanced game this season.

But the only way for Apex to use EOMM is if the devs have publically lied about not using it. And lying about that is not just stupid, it's probably illegal.

Furthermore most "proof" of Apex using EOMM isn't really proof of EOMM, just of badly implemented SBMM (and cheaters).

Pubs is trash as well, I'm a silver and keep fighting people with masters, diamond, and predator badges. I am going to start quitting every game that I see diamond and above tags/skydive trails. The only way to get fair matchmaking is to limit play to once a week.

@Benjamin8894 The matchmaking in this game is terrible and almost a third of the players cheat. Somehow even new players have the aim and game sense of professionals. Everyone could stop playing the game until they fix it but they'd probably move onto something else so we really have no say in anything, it sucks.

I am not sure how they are ever going to balance the matchmaking. I make diamond solo q every season I play through. Right now was gold 1 and consistently getting silver and a few bronze teammates. Mostly duos so there is that. Some current plats and diamonds here and there but mostly gold enemies. Watching streamers in predator lobbies you can see their wait times suck sometimes and occasionally they are encountering bots that are either carried or significantly lower tiered.
My suggestion first is an option for no duo full as a solo player. Never going to happen I know. Second is a rank lock, duo with lower tier is nerfed to the lowest tier player. The higher player is handicapped on their rp as a result. They are choosing this option not me. Being punished with a low tier boy who stands in the open and takes repeater shots to the face while they are sniping with a p20 is ridiculous.
To be fair my duo teammates get pissed because almost everyone hot drops, and I get sick of knocking 1 or 2 enemies just to see my squad is crawling on the ground with me having to decide in an instant leave or rez. Leave and my kills won’t count rez and probably back to the lobby.
I know this is long, but this hasn’t really changed since season 2 of ranked. It literally has changed format but the overall feel is the same. You will be crippled before leaving the jump ship. I leave chat to text on now just so I can read all of the wholesome comments about what an awful teammate I am. There will not be a better ranked experience if you solo q.
Respawn has stated over and over again that you need to be in premade to enjoy the game. So I just hop in try to find some enjoyment and then bounce. Good luck to all of you, on a side note I hope they shut off the leaver penalty in ranked so we could leave duos to their hot drop of shame and just return to the lobby.

Why this game seems to think I can carry anybody when I can barely win a 1v1 in most cases is truly beyond me. It also gets worse the more players are online and that absolute baffles me.

Nothing about the matchmaking makes any freaking sense. Respawn is completely incompetent and the blog post was a steaming pile of BS meant to get everyone to shut up. Absolute garbage.

@HappyHourSumwur This season has been so far the worst i've ever played as a solo. I dunno if its the incresing amount of controller players in PC but randoms seem to be obsessed with pushing anything that moves at all cost, specially duos that seem to think that by being 2 can take on anything. And then you have the increasing number of players hot dropping due to the changes to armors which makes it even more unplayble

Another thing i cant get to understand is why we still get 3 stacks in pubs, Masters+ level premades at that. I get those pretty much in most of my matches and they obliterate the whole lobby 95% of the times.
