I am really enjoying this map. Since launch I’ve probably got about 15 hours on it. At first i hated the size of the map. But I’ve come to really appreciate it. And I’m sure others will too as soon as they get their head around the change. You can already see more fluency in the map to date as players learn the ground. Capitol City could actually be mean 5v5 squad location (or mini battle royale, just a thought?)
Most players I’ve heard from who are giving negative feedback are those that like the SMG third party option from Kings Canyon, and cant stand the fact that’s been taken away. Hate me for saying it all you like, but it’s true. The third party made it easier for you.
im an average player. I’m no god-tier gamer. But I feel the size of the map, plus the space been drop locations lends to styled and tactical gunfights between squads. 3rd partying is still an option. It just takes you more time to cover the ground, putting the 3rd party at a “disadvantage”.
loot distribution does need tending to though. Countless matches I’ve dropped into, searched 4-8 loot piles without a weapon or shield. At least up the drop of level ken shields lol

@tronic1987The size of the map isn't the problem. The fact that there are much empty spaces is. Apart from that a lot of 'dropareas' that are interesting are really close to eachother. Which results in 2 or 3 squads being in your range in no time.
I honestly haven't really experienced a lot of gunfights where we were just fighting one squad. 9 out of 10 times we were third partied, sometimes even fourth partied or were shot from long range with the charge rifle and the longbow. Because the fights take longer, because the distance is longer. Squads get a lot of time to locate the battle and join in. That's why it's sometimes a cluserfck and very hard to tell how many squads you are fighting at once. There is no real need to get sub machines until you are in very late game and even then you need to hope the last circle will be in a tight spot and not in a large open field.
The meta and map changed too much. As a season 1 and season 2 player myself I have the feeling that all my process of learning and understanding the game can be thrown into the garbagecan this season because it feels and plays like a total different game.
I could write a whole paragraph about the loot atm but since a lot of you have already covered it I'll leave it be. Or shall I add a little bit that I usually start my games with six different types of optics. A stack of energy ammo and a lvl 1 helmet before running trough 3 other buildings before finding lvl 1 armor and a mozambique. Thanks...- 6 years ago@NinhNL I get what you’re saying. But that’s what the devs wanted l. They stated exactly that. That they wanted to create longer range battles.
If you can’t finish the fight maybe you’d should think about the way you are approaching your rotations and approaching your gunfights in the first place. Good players will adapt to individual fights. I for one will always call a withdrawal from a gunfight if it’s clear it’s going on too long and there’s a chance for third party involvement.
If you’re not acknowledging that fact, then that’s poor plays on your own part, not Respawn for developing a map.
The loot will probably be addressed eventually.
