They've flirted with this idea already a few seasons ago when they tried out an LTM where you could pick up various ultimates off the ground. I can't remember if you could use them instead of your own or in addition to your own. And honestly, this is more or less a feature of Wildcard with all the nonsense you can pick up out of a replicator. Wall running. Self-revive. The infamous Dash. The list goes on. My own experience so far has shown me a lot of added complexity without a lot of added benefit. Not to mention that some of these abilities (specifically Dash) interact poorly with my legend's existing kit. So not exactly a seamless experience.
I understand that people want to mix things up and have new experiences, but in my opinion there is already far too much bleed between different legends. Some of it is because newer legends are just rehashes of older legends. Some of it is because they put some legends' ults in packages anyone can pick up (mobile jump tower). And still some more comes, as I said, in the form of Wildcard insanity. I know you're bored. I'm a little bored too. But I'm not really seeing this as the way forward. Unfortunately for me, the developer seems to think you're on to something, so don't expect it overnight, but over the next few seasons? I'd bet on it in some form or other.

Although, it had tacticals as well, (like Wraith's phase), but it was only a very small handful of abilities that we could use, (which kind of got boring after a few matches).

Yeah, I remember not liking it - because I don't like anything that upsets my routine. Pretty sure that if I was any younger I would have been diagnosed as "on the spectrum" at some point.
But even now, my experience of wall-running and dashing in Wildcard tells me that there is such a thing as sensory overload, not to mention how these mechanics sometimes interfere with a legend's native abilities. And I don't mind saying that I miss the old days when I could identify which legend an enemy was playing and know exactly what to expect. Now the only thing I know is this: if they don't teleport half way across the map to simply appear at your side and one clip you and disappear as fast as they came... then they will literally drop out of the sky on top of you on a respawn. Obviously talking about Wildcard here. It's just too chaotic. Unfortunately there is something to be said for the pacing. I go back to regular trios once in a while and I can take a nap between my cold drop and the final two. I HATE that I'm saying that because I HATE Wildcard. But I also can't seem to stop playing it. **bleep** you, Respawn. **bleep** you!
