Accessibility Feedback: Threat Vision Color issues for Colorblind Players

As a player with deuteranopia (red-green color blindness), the current threat vision color settings are creating a significant accessibility barrier.

After the update introduced threat vision for Scout legends, I've found I cannot use the feature effectively. The default red enemy highlight is difficult to distinguish from natural elements like grass and vegetation. However, switching to the deuteranopia accessibility mode changes the highlight to a very light blue, which then becomes impossible to see against the sky and many urban environments.

This lack of a high-contrast option effectively removes this new gameplay feature for colorblind players. To resolve this, I think it could help implementing one of the following:

  1. A way to disable these shaders.
  2. Or higher-contrast color option (e.g., a dark blue or purple for the deuteranopia profile).

Thank you for considering this feedback to make the game more accessible for all players.

  • oqYXD4KrA7lF I wonder if an option to shift the color of the highlights would be better.

What I mean is, if the highlighted player is against a red object, their highlight color would shift over to blue, (or whichever color is more visible to you), while if they were against the sky or a blue object, the highlight color would shift over to red, (or another visible color), like so:

Note: Incase the colors are hard to see, (or to tell apart), the image above has red on the left and blue on the right, (with a blue / on the left, and a red \ on the right).

Midnight9746 That may be a good idea too, although I wonder if stationary targets may still be well recognized when for example they are overlapping different colors and in general the variability in their colors may also make targets difficult to spot.

  • As a workaroud for people struggling with this issue, if you have a NVIDIA card that support NVIDIA FreeStyle by pressing ALT+F3  you can bring up this overlay and on the Color Blindness section you can try to ramp up Deuteranopia and this makes the default red highlight into something like purple that I find easier to spot in most instances.
