I do not and cannot understand why people buy anything in-game with any thought in mind other than, "Nice game, here you go, dev, have some money and thanks."

That said, I agree whole heartedly that the store is a mess and the pricing seems to be chosen to get as much money as possibly for as little as possible in return. That said, none of it was ever a value proposition no matter how low the price might get.

In the end I have to assume that accountants at EA did the math and designed a system to yield up the maximum amount of cash without completely destroying the will of the player to return and spend more later. Cynical but sensible. It's grossed them BILLIONS so far and the more it gets them in the future the better off will be every single EA shareholder. And yes, my retirement is a greater concern to me than whether kids can afford heirlooms. I finally got mine for free and I still won't use it because every time I see another player in a fancy skin I don't think, "Great look, buddy." I think, "You're an idiot for spending that much money on something that useless." Old man rant over.
