Mouse and Keyboard support on controller

I’ve really gotten into apex over the past week since a friend got me into it. He plays on PC with mouse and keyboard and I play on PS4, with a controller (obviously). However, as I’ve improved at the game I’ve begun to notice the limitations of controller. Of course, accuracy is a bug thing, but I’d like to believe I’m rather proficient with a controller and my basic mechanical skill on a controller does enough as far as gun play is concerned. But things like looting, inventory management, and general UI navigation seem to be far easier on mouse and keyboard. I don’t doubt my abilities with a controller, but these sorts of things irk me because I hate being limited by things that are out of my control.

With that said, I would absolutely love to try this game on mouse and keyboard. I know it would take some time to learn, but I’d love the option of trying it. Other games like Fortnite and Call of Duty among have introduced native support for MKB on console, and with crossplay being available, I don’t see why there can’t be native support on Apex as well. If the issue is input advantage, it should be possible to follow the aforementioned examples with input based matchmaking (i.e. controller vs controller, MKB vs MKB).

I know it’s not necessarily easy for the devs to just slap in MKB support for consoles and tweak the matchmaking system, but I’m sure I’m not the only console player who just wants to give MKB a shot and can’t afford to get a PC. Please, developers, let us console players have a taste of Apex on MKB. Thanks all for reading, and thanks to the devs for creating this game that I’ve found so much joy in over this past week.
