Muting Pings

@DaWiz2015 the ping spamming usually occurs when the player goes down and dies, for me. I just mute them then. 

would be no issue at all if they would let "players with similar skill" compete with/against each other.
same applies to the "he is one shot" callouts, a lesser skilled players shouts that all the time, even they only scratched the opponents shield.
Guess they watched to many HAL/Timmy Videos instead of grinding, otherwise they would know what one shot really means !

Most definitely. But muting your teammates ping mid fight is something I don't want to do. And once you mute them you can't see their highlight to revive them as quickly as possible. I've had scenarios where my teammate is knocked and my enemy is knocked, it gets a little confusing. But whatever....

My point is that right now we only have two options: unmute pings or mute pings (sound and visual). All I'm asking for is an option to NOT remove the "visual" ping (i.e., loot pings, enemy pings, banner highlights, knocked teammate highlights, etc.).

There should be an option in the middle. I disagree, somewhat, with a ping delay. That's more technical, but I won't rule it out (When does the delay start and end? For how long? etc.) But anyways, since as "adults" we're acting like we don't understand what the "definition of mute" is, here we go....

Mute - characterized by an 'absence of sound'; quiet.

Muting pings should not include the 'visual'. That's called a "removal":

Removal - the action of taking away.

Let's not debate with the dictionary. Can't win that one. Getting through to people is just as hard as dealing with randoms.

Devs give me an option to simply mute the ping noise. It's annoying!!! I don't mind seeing the pings, that's fine, but the noise is deafening. Just add a volume slider or something, please. I think Apex has a great ping system, but this happens frequently, if not every game. This isn't even the worst example.

My teammates rotated the wrong way near the ring, and I had to heal. All I do is follow my teammates because they never follow me. I don't care, I play for pure fun. As you can see once I caught up there was no one. This is just a snippet of this game; it didn't end well. Players in Apex will see someone and ping them to death. When I ping it's a double ping at most and then I wait a moment before pinging again, if needed. This is one of the reasons I'm giving Apex a break after I complete the battle pass. If I mute pings then I can't see pinged items, banners, downed teammate highlights, etc.

This ain't it devs, you know deep inside this ain't it man. Stop fronting!!!

Yeah, I've listened to this crap for too long.

When Apex was new to the BR scene it was kind of acceptable, but after almost 4 years I just can't. It's not fun. I'm going to mute pings, again, and finish the battle pass because I want the Charge Rifle skin. But now I won't be able to see the visual pings and other visual information because muting pings "disables" pings altogether, which is stupid. I think muting pings also disables lore communication between legends, but I could be wrong. I'll have to revisit this game months from now to see if it has evolved to my liking. I'm really trying to help the devs see the light. This game needs some serious QoL improvements. I'm not here to bish about the other forum B.S. that's irrelevant.

The video below displays just one of the many "consequences" of muting pings, and this has happened numerous times over the years when I mute pings. My teammates start to troll me when I don't pick up loot that they ping. Little do they know I can't see nothing because the developers of this freaking game "penalize" me for using an option they added to the game. Make that make sense. Fix your game Respawn. This is not on EA.

In the video we were idle, so I did an emote. My first teammate attempted to punch me, and my second teammate start shooting at me. We died like 2 mins later. Oh well, at least I'm leveling up my battle pass 🙂 If you see me on your team, you know what the deal is. 

Please forward this entire thread to whom it concerns. Please forward my other post as well. I'm not here to complain about the servers, ranked matchmaking, LTM's, Legend and weapon balancing, etc. I think the game is in a good state and I know more content and balancing will happen naturally, but I can't play your game if you don't fix these simple underlying issues.

Thanks for the post! I was trying to understand where in the settings I messed something up! It was the pings! Anytime I get spammed by teammates wanting to attack my ears,  while I fight for my life ..... muted. But then I go back to the seen of the crime and no tags. It's like duck duck goose but with bullets flying at you while you play.   Lmfao
