I'll go long stretches with low level teammates and 3 stack/smurf/cheater enemies resulting in my team getting erased in record time over and over again. Until that stops and I feel like my teammates and enemies are actual human beings, I won't believe a thing Respawn says about what they are supposedly doing to combat cheating and improve matchmaking. It's nice that they said something, but actions speak louder than words at this point.
@HappyHourSumwur Yeah, the cheating issue is so bad, I've been seeing aimbotters as randoms on my team. I've been reporting them as I've see them, but they're still playing even months later. I just hope that the reports are doing something to help deal with the cheaters. We'll see, I suppose.

@EA_Mako
Please show us with actions and results, not words....
How many times have you said, “I'm ready to get serious about fighting cheats!” But in the end, the situation remained almost the same.
So please don't give me unnecessary expectations by saying big things in words until you see the results. ......
I understand that it's hard work to prevent cheaters, and the worst are those who are breaking the game and ruining it by engaging in the “criminal act” of cheating, but to be honest, EA/Respawn is also at fault for not being able to crack down on them properly.
The lack of proper policing creates a situation where cheaters are underestimated by criminals who use cheats and are allowed to use them with impunity.
We've seen enough of the “we're going to do something about cheats” and we've seen enough of the “we're going to do something about cheats” and yet we haven't seen any improvement.
So, before you go on a big rant, please show us the results first.
Words alone are not credible at all.
I want you to seriously recognize the fact that you have lost credibility to such an extent that you are now in a state of crisis.
For now, I will wait and see how things go without playing for a while, but if things don't improve, I will leave apex for good, and if things don't improve this time, apex itself will have no future. - reconzero12 months agoSeasoned Ace
@Asmodeus566
"Smurfs I see as a separate matter:
Is it a new alt account?
Is it Timmys or any other Pro/Streamers 500th rookie to Pred grind and this time just Akimbo weapons?
Is it some really good persons new gaming account because their original account got hacked and sold?
Is it just some cracked good new kid?
Is it I got banned for whatever reason but was good and had to make a new account?"
The only legitimate reason for a secondary that I can see on that list is, hacked, sold, starts new account. The rest of them are somewhere on the scumbag scale, and most are closer to the bottom than the top. I sympathize to some degree with an average player who has just grown tired of lop-sided matchmaking and is trying to do something about it, but the rest are a genuine pox. Streamers doing their 100th rookie to pred are the mainspring behind the cheating in this game. The kids see it on YouTube and twitch but when they try it themselves it's like running face first into a brick wall. So they look for ways to "fix" the wall so it isn't as hard or maybe not even there at all. I'm not trying to excuse the cheating, but the two are connected. If you advertise alcohol in prime time then the rate of teenage DWIs goes up. It's that simple. - AreYouShivering12 months agoNew Ace
I expected the number will be bad, but this is really bad. 100k banned monthly, with like... 200k players monthly on average just on Steam Charts? Wow And I was saying cheaters are 30% of player base. I was so naive :D
- Palette24carats12 months agoSeasoned Ace@Midnight9746 At this point they should be smarter... when they ban 600 000 accounts they should immediatly disable the creation of new accounts. Let them go dry for months, who needs a new account for 6 year old Apex ? Seriously!
- MindTrick8510 months agoRising Hotshotit's not playable currently if u don't use cheats 10k hours here was nro 7 headshots in the world and now gettin lazered by cheaters and smurfin cheaters in every single game. Swansong of this game began few seasons back already just wait for it less than a year they close the servers.
- MindTrick8510 months agoRising Hotshot@reconzero in a game where u able to go pred rank before even gettin banned by cheating the smurf issue is similar to cheater issue. how many have lost their account due its been hacked 0.0000001% how many have been banned cuz of inappropriate behaviour a lot but how many hitting 90-100% headshots every single game well a cheater. It's not a rocketscience it's a fact this game is infected by cheaters I wonder how boring their life must be.
- HappyHourSumwur10 months agoSeasoned Ace@MindTrick85 S20 was the beginning of the end, IMO. The cheaters and smurfs are most of who's left playing from what I can tell. Curious how long the death throws will last.
Steam charts pretty much confirm it is on its last legs, too. Player counts are about 1/4 of peak and dropping by the day and Respawn has said nothing about it. Just waiting for EA to pull the plug on the servers at this point. - r1ggedgame10 months agoSeasoned Ace@HappyHourSumwur Steamcharts are a small indicator that speaks only for a fraction of the Playerbase. Those 250K players missing isnt a huge number.
But a look at the Rank Distribution of Apex Tracker sites draws a more concerning picture :
Approx 4 Million Players stopped playing ranked mode between End of S19 and now.
