OMG really?
We could argue the finer points of what are considered team sports in real sports but that is not going to get us anywhere here.
The bottom line and something that you will have to accept is that Apex is a team based game and solo's will not ever be a thing.
Apex is in no way a team based game, I don't care what anyone says. A team based game should be able to be played with friends, family members, siblings, spouses, your kids etc....
I challenge anyone who disagrees to first play solo Q, and tell me its a team based game with randoms that leave the minute they get knocked, yell, call you names etc etc etc.... the list here goes on and on and on. Don't take my word for it... just read the hundreds and hundreds of complaints on this forum alone from the casual player base who continue to try.
Second, try and squad up with a family member or friend, son, mate and well.... we all know what happens then.
Team based game Phhfftttt, not for couple years. This game literally punishes you for playing in a squad with mates trying to play as a team. Even if you are a level 2 first time player... sure solo Q'ing you might have the odd decent experience, if you manage to come across a few decent people along the way. Lets just say during that time, you find you click with a complete stranger also a true level 2 first time player, whom during a solo match, you found them to be helpful, and enjoyed your game with them. Hopefully you don't think to yourself, gee, I had fun with this fellow, I'm gonna invite him to my lobby. OH BOY, you've gone and done it now.... 2 brand new level 2 players who don't know each other that squad up together and have no real advantage as a squad because lets say, neither one uses a mic and they don't know each others play style, rather just found the player was kind and helpful during a random match - Well good luck, now you are fed to the top players in the world after that, because you decide to be a team together in a team based game LOL.
I haven't been able to play this team based game with my kids or co-workers, friends or brother for so long now. Because the minute I try, the system somehow thinks that my current 0.6 KD just shot up to 4.0 KD because my son with a 0.7 KD just joined my lobby so we could be a team, to have some fun as casuals in Pubs in a TEAM based game.
Really? How can this be considered a team based game when the game punishes you for having a team?

I'll take the heat for agreeing with you whole-heartedly on this one. This game does everything short of demand you play as a team, and then punishes you brutally for teaming up. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
That out of the way, there are some solid strategies for playing a no-fill match, but it makes the experience extremely inflexible and very repetitive. It involves knowing where every single evo harvester is the second the spawn in, having a method of fast transport to hit as many as possible, and lastly, having a good mid-range poke weapon that will allow you to do damage without putting you at high risk of being swarmed by the enemy. A mobility legend works best. I recommend Valk, as always. Know where your tridents are, know where your grav cannons are, know where your jump towers are, and always carry a mobile jump tower in your survival slot. If you can get to a care package before anyone else you may get lucky and find one of those evo jackpots waiting for you. That one's a little more high-risk, but worth considering if you feel you have a good sense of enemy positions and movement.
And even if you have all of this down, there will still be matches where position vs. circle makes the solo gambit untenable. Not impossible, but not worth the risk or effort. And if you do this for ten matches in a row you'll be lucky if in two of them you get to face off against a final squad that is less than three people. Which only matters if your goal is a win, but if it is then you probably wouldn't be no-filling.- AreYouShivering2 years agoNew Ace
It's a team based game, and that's the fact.
IT'S A TEAM BASED GAME!
