Octane's Heirloom Needs Updated....

Before anything i just wanna say: I "Bought" this heirloom for $178 and everything during the system Override Event... I also literally a month beforehand just got Wraith randomly.... "for free"... by chance (no refunds) and no heirlooms shards till after Season 4 System Override... Now yes.... IT HAS BEEN A MORE THAN A YEAR!!!! I own literally "everything Octane" both in game and irl... why is the heirloom? <most expensive thing? LAME!!!? For the fun-est character I've played since launch??? Waiting a year and half for any kind of buff... And for another year waited on improvements on the heirloom...

Look I love the inspect.... But who has time to watch a inspect.... (as a octane main).... And that is literally the only thing the heirloom has going for it... Even during the Old Ways Event... You had to give it "one" "small" extra animations due to backlash and player feedback??

So... Not only do I main Octane.... (and own everything Octane).... but I own the worst heirloom too? As I've watched more and more heirlooms come; I am hoping for the best... All coming with 3rd different inspects... intro/pick up animations, everything that makes them "heirlooms". So how and why is Octane's heirloom boring... When's he's always bored? Honestly could have gotten the heirloom free if I didn't get Wraith's and/or there was a refund option and/or heirloom shards were never a thing.... Maybe I'm just unlucky... but I bought Octane's heirloom (and every skin first time release)...

Basically Octane heirloom goes from carrying it... to stim and then hold it out while running??? (even looks weird in 3rd person)... It's a butterfly knife! with no animations!!! with the fun-est guy in the GAME!!! Octane just "holds" the knife half the time... Shouldn't he be throwing it around everywhere just he's bored? Dropping it like Mirage? Have at least 1 rare animation? hitting someone with a stim/selfie cam/game controller? Like this is OCTANE!! With the lamest heirloom....

Now If I got this free... or... there were more animations...wouldn't say anything... All I know is that I put in a lot in the heirloom and didn't get much out... and seeing the newer ones I don't see why it can't be "updated"? Seriously just holds it half the time...why even have it?

Now I don't want to sound like a drag..., but it a cool concept... and cool inspect... and I'm grateful for the work put in... but It just doesn't compare to any of the newer or even previous heirlooms... Even Wraith's twirls hers while running + inspect... Octane just does thing weird/buggy animation of putting his arm up and down...

Ideas:

  1. Intro Animation of opening the knife up....
  2. Rare animations of Octane hitting someone with a stim/selfie cam/wrench or even a root beer from recent lore...
  3. One more inspect (short) of Octane pulling out a game controller and just mashing buttons (like in the Season 3 launch trailer?)
  4. More glowing effects when he injects it into himself?
  5. When running "stimmed" (he isn't just holding out with his hand)... How about doing constant spinning tricks (like the inspect, but in one hand and running)
  6. Rare animation of stimming the knife in himself rather than a stim? (some rare times..)

    @031567 Your dislike for his butterfly knife is an opinion, not fact. I like the knife, in fact its one of the only ones I DO like. I dislike caustics giant hammer despite him being one of my mains, I dislike revenants scythe despite him being one of my mains. Both of those ALSO being opinions.

    Also there are animations you can trigger at your whim for him playing with said knife, some exactly what you want even, him whipping and whirling it around. Why don't you trigger them? I would agree those animations should be used more often than just when you intentionally trigger them tho.

    @MonhulioUh...? What? Are talking about the animation from walking to sprinting with the knife (which wasn't even originally there when it initially came out)... Octane doesn't do much of anything with the knife... runs with an upwards position with it; while stimmed he holds it out.. has a animation from walking to running and a inspect... THAT'S IT...

    No Rare melee animations
    1 Inspect
    No Starting/Draw animations
    Clunky Inspect while running

    Like What? I'm not trying to say I dislike my $178 item; I'm saying it doesn't compare to any of it's future or even previous heirlooms... I've used it for a year... There's nothing special about it... and it's a butterfly knife.... <you know; you do tricks with it?> But Octane doesn't real do anything with it?

    Opinion not Fact? My Opinion is: It a heirloom that I like and want to enjoy, but is underwhelming compared to others

    Fact: Paid $178 for a heirloom with the least amount of animations or work put into... (besides the inspect)

    @031567Just wanted to add I agree with the top comment of that video that instead of quips you should get a unique finisher with each heirloom because there are not enough finishers in the game
