@StarMystroIm not saying they shouldn't be valued or even disrespected. And data from pro leagues are definitely a good point to consider when it comes to balance changes.
I'm saying that if the support by devs/publisher goes a little to far then the leverage could be used in ways that ultimatily harms both the community and the game itself. No one wants a game thats more fun to watch in pro leagues than it is to actually play like OW, not to mention Jeff, in his almighty wisdom assumed that every streamer and OWL pro is automatically so holy and righteous that Jesus isn't even any competition and allows them to do literally whatever they want including doxxing and harrassment (just don't have any political opinion that would make China label you as an undesirable and you'll be fine).
- 5 years ago@StarMystro Balance is the key word, its EXTREMELY hard to balance legends and items/weapons in ways not only to make each one unique and functional for their purpose, but also have everyone, the new, the pro and average in mind.
I could also of course go on a massive rant about BHVR and DBD who took the opposite extreme to balancing and did not release a single update since 2018 that was not aimed to decrease the skill requirements and ceiling for the game in all aspects, they aim their balance exclusively for new players which caused the overall game (and huge part of its community) to be braindead, even compared to a button masher mobile game. There are only 2 Killers left that take any skill left to play and defeat, Trapper and the Hag, and the latter is very likely the next one to get lobotomized.
IMO, despite some disagreements with Respawn i have to say compared to all Ubisoft studios, Blizzard, BHVR, Riot games etc. Respawn really does manage to walk that line and does overall, in the big picture, an amazing job all things considered.

As long as they don't get to run anything relating to Apex i'd be fine with it. I would personally never buy any of them but also not ruin it for those who do. I just fear that it could go the way of Siege and OW, thats all.- 5 years ago
I see your point and agree, thank you for the reply.

@BigBlackCausticIt's good to see a fellow soul who's witnessed the... "changes" throughout DbD's life. I miss Mathieu Cote! ...and the early days of Dead by Daylight.

@StarMystroSome older employees told a story about how its a virtually completely new Dev team behind the scenes with no clue, patience or experience. I wouldn't call DBD dead just like For Honor yet, but last time i checked there is still an average wait time of 15-20 minutes.
You can't deny how incompetent they are once you realize how much nerfs they put to Killers that were mid-tier that literally no one was asking nerfs for. Pig is the poster child who got nerfed from b-tier into the ground for no real reason with literally every update for a year straight. Even the most biased surv mains memed how stupid that was.
