We keep calling them a "heirloom" because when the game first launched these cosmetics that was the name for them. Which most in the game still refer to them as a heirloom. They have since been renamed to "Mythical" cosmetics. All still fall under the same category. Just because one is universal and another is not does not mean it comes with game mode perks. Most in the game fully understand that its the game mode that gave such advantages not the actual mythic weapon. No one scammed anyone. You are the first person in apexs lifetime ive seen even think that it would come with some extra perks or advantages. Everyone else clearly knows what they are getting.
Again, when making such purchases it will always be best to ask the questions you may assume you know or understand. It never hurts to ask before making a purchase what exactly it is you are purchasing and does it come with some extra jazz to give an advantage or purely a "A look at my cool shiny new toy" item.
Listen we consumers can clearly read and understand what we purchase so you can defend your explanation all you want but the facts are facts it clearly says "Universal Melee".

Yes, Because you can melee with it. Physically melee 30 damage hits. Nothing more. All of them are labeled this way. Im a consumer like you ive bought 6 of them personally and gotten 2 from random packs. Its universal because when these weapons first launched they were legend specific. So thats where the word universal comes from it allows all legends to equip them universally verse legend specific. All are in the melee category because when you do a melee attack you are hitting that enemy with the heirloom instead of the games default fist animations.
So im not defending an explanation im trying to help you understand one you are misunderstanding.
