Toxic game/ poor action by EA

I came back to Apex after a break as I got sick of listening to the toxic comments. This week after a few games got a teammate giving my other teammate constant abuse, your garbage, delete the game, your rubbish, please delete. After reporting this, several days later I get the 'no action taken email', there is proof via messages of this unprovoked toxic gameplay, yet as usual EA do nothing about it. Why is it okay for EA to allow this, gaming is chill time, for fun, to relax, make friends, not get constant abuse. In my opinion EA is encouraging this behaviour by doing nothing about it. I dont claim to be a good player, in fact I would say I'm not good, but I'm a great teammate, surely I'm not the only one that sees this abuse. When are EA going to do something about it.

  • Tsp8 There is an in-game setting under the first settings page called "communication filter". You can change this setting from "everyone" to "friends only" or to "no one", which will block incoming voice and text chat from non-friends, (or everyone), however do keep in mind that your voice and text chat will still go through, (and if you manually unmute anyone, you would have to manually remute them if you wish for them to be automatically muted again).

While this setting has been awesome for me, it may not be a solution for you if you like to still talk to randoms on your team.

  • People can say whatever they want without consequence. But if you turn on your voice-to-text and start screenshotting and reporting THAT... then you might get some people banned.

But, as pointed out already, the best solution is to keep your squadmates muted until the point in the match where they might actually have something useful to say. Final three, maybe?

What reconzero pointed out is a good thing, however you should be aware that it is a two way street, your voice will be transmitted as text to the others as well.

You can also mute the other players if you do not want to deal with their toxicity.

[W]hat the Internet and its cult of anonymity do is to provide a blanket sort of immunity for anybody who wants to say anything about anybody else, and it would be difficult in this sense to think of a more morally deformed exploitation of the concept of free speech.

"morally deformed exploitation of the concept of free speech"

    Very well said.
