Prestige Skin: Huge Mistake, Missed Opportunity

The current approach to prestige skins is a big mistake for two reasons:

The prestige skin is way too expensive for what it is. There's a classic adage about cost and effort, in that fair returns demand either "your time or your money". The prestige skin, as implemented here, requires both. It costs the highest initial outlay of any item available on the Apex platform (comparable to purchasing multiple AAA titles), as well as a massive investment of time to reach the final tier. This is nowhere close to a sense of fair value.

Prestige skins are a huge missed opportunity. They offer a character-focused avenue for extending experiential status markers past the level cap, with direct in-game impact. Character heirlooms are desirable because they are rare (and cool). However, they cannot contribute to a sense of progression or experiential status. Prestige skins would be an ideal way to do both of these things, organically and in-game, to show that players have earned their stripes with a specific character.

Simple fix: allow players to buy character-specific prestige skins with legend tokens (300k or so). Long-time AL grinders are sitting on hundreds of thousands of these, which have comically limited use. Prestige skins would be an excellent marquee item in a tokens-only store, and directly encourage players to play more, play more with friends, and purchase the upgraded battlepass every season.
