@Professor_Doggy short answer, its fun.
Seeing a teammate watching over a ledge for enemies and than pushing them off is pretty fun, not for the receiving side but for the other two because they see you helplessly fall down a hill or off a house.
Friendly fire is a dangerous game. Fortnite had it and teammates would be killed by their own guys just for having good loot and was finally just taken off.
PUBG still has it and unless you play with your squad, more often than not, you will be killed by your own team for bad plays or just having more better loot.
Punching teammates is fun if you can get into it, its like when players use to ping MOZ, no one wanted it but it was just to mess around considering it doesn't really have consequences besides being annoying.
My teammates do it to me all the time and I do it back. Just a little fun in the game and it kinda helps hiding your AFK teammate who went to the bathroom or whatever.

@iBlockHead Happened to me today and I can definitely agree with the part where it isn't fun for the recipient. Got paired with a Indian duo, muted them like I do to anyone who talks too much or makes any unnecessary noise, went about my business fighting and looting and I thought I heard footsteps so I slowed down to listen and this * comes up behind me and punches me, everything was quiet and I was focusing on picking up noises so this gave me a * heart attack, I ignored him and kept going when the other * shoots me out of nowhere, at this point I realize they're a bunch of * and went solo, just another reason why I hate duos
- 6 years ago@Pretzelnutcake the same reason duos hate randoms
- 6 years ago@ElBirri I'm not following you, they hate randoms for not putting up with their *?
