I have the same always, and now for season 18 as well.
It is like, the update process thinks, i want download the whole game, isntead of just updating.
It tells me, there are 47 gb to be downloaded for the update,
and that this is not possible, because i have only 21 gb free on my drive.
The installed game is already taking 67 gb of drive space.
It has clearly nothing to do with a file verifying process.
I can't update to the new season, without uninstalling other games, or completely reinstalling the whole thing,
only because an about 6gb to 10 gb big season update.
This update is a bad joke for Origin users.
Also, it seems like, Origin does not delete, the not anymore needed files first, before installing the new ones.
So it always needs more drive space available, than neccessary.
Example : The update would be let's say 20 gb. You have 10 gb free on your drive.
Sounds like no problem right. But not with Origin.
Because it wants to put in the new files first, and THEN delete the old ones, it needs 20 gb + free drive space.
How about deleting outdated files first, by the update process, and THEN, putting in the new files.
It can't be normal, that 21gb free drive space, are not enough, for a 10 gb season update.
It wants to update 20gb, and after putting in these new files in, it wants to give space free again.
So what would happen is, you having 10 gb free, so it let's you delete things worth 10 gb, so the 20 gb can happen.
After it is done with the 20gb update, it deletes the old files.
So now, after the update, you have let's say, 20 gb free, on your drive, instead of the 10 gb free, you had, before the update.
This means you had to delete stuff, worth 10 gb, to make the update happen, allthough, you have more drive space, after the update.
Does no one at EA get, what is wrong with that ?
Having more space, after the update, means, that it would have had, enough drive space, to begin with, before the update.
So why it is acting like, the user hasn't got enough drive space available.
It has always been like that, with Origin games. Everytime i had to remove stuff, for being able to update,
i had MORE drive space, after the update was done, so i KNOW, it wouldn't even have been neccessary to remove stuff,
if the update philosophy at EA, would use a better order of doing stuff.
Delete old files first, and THEN put in the new files, This would be the correct order of tasks.
But no, we have to stupidly delete things, while Steam users just update the 10 gb, that get added, and some old files removed.
