Rank reword idea

A real rank rework that would really have players of the same skill level play against each other would be very different from the current rank system.

Here is my idea: Have a permanent rank system that match you with players that have the same points/game ratio.

So we could eliminate totally the current point system that goes to 50k points.

It would also eliminate the need for rank splits and we could get a map change every day or at any time. We have 4 maps let's use them all.

Here's how it could look:

Entry cost 0 for all players of any rank

Bronze players: 0-20 points on average per game players ratio

Silver players: 20-30

Gold: 30-40

Platinum: 40-50

Diamond: 50-70

Master: 70+

Preds: 750 best average point per game players

With this system we solve ALL problems I think;

-No more rank smurf problem... players get up immediately to their higher skill based game with 1 or 2 game

-No more pros complaining it is too easy, not challenging enough since they keep playing with the best players and not against those who play more

-No more pros complaining they make too many points at 50k points

-No more pros complaining players don't care about points since this is the only matter

-No more pros doing bronze to master challenge to destroy lower skill players

-No more lower skill players complaining they get killed by far superior players

-No more 6 week for the same map... this really sucks

  • @Palette24caratsI'm not sure how this would eliminate smurfs, couldn't they just throw games to decrease their game point ratio??

I'm also not 100% sure what you mean by point for game/ratio, are you talking about the number of points we earn per match?

And also would this apply to both br ranked and arena? Or is it meant more for one than the other?

@XxColdFangxX Well it would because everybody plays to win... nobody plays to lose this is not fun. It works with your average... which means you would go down in rank if you purposedly lost games and got killed earlier many games... what purpose would it fulfill to go down in a rank that you want to grind?

Plus let's say you have played 30 games, you average ratio wouldnt go down a lot unless you purposedly played like 30 bad games... who would play 30 bad games to go down in a rank they want to grind? And let's say they do: then the purpose of the rank is fulfilled: a player that played bad got killed and the sweat lower skill player got points from that.

I really don't see how there is any way to abuse this system.

@XxColdFangxX There are 23 different ranks in Rainbow Six Siege. Along with Operation Ember Rise, a new rank called Champions has been added to the game.

    Every new season comes, Rainbow Six Siege ranking system works as follows;

Your old rank will be reset when a new season starts. If you play 10 ranked matches, your new rank will be determined.
When the new season starts, your MMR is recalculated by averaging your MMR from the previous season and 2500 MMR.
After the average is calculated, you will play 10 ranked matches and your new rank will be determined. From now on, you will earn or lose 100-120 MMR on average in every match you play.

@Palette24carats Seems that they do what we expected Apex to do for years:

Finally, if you lose connection during the match, you will not be penalized if you reconnect to the game. If you fail to reconnect to the match, you will lose MMR, even if your team won.
If the match is canceled during game finding or if the game crashes during the game, no player’s MMR will be lost.

So your idea is based off because everyone plays to win?
I don't think that's true, especially in my case, and especially in the case of a smurf.
Noone likes the current rank system now for many reasons, one of them being its too easy for the smurfs to stay where they are. This is just basically the same imo.
Smurfs don't care about the win nearly as much as they care about the easy lobbies they can mow through, other wise they wouldn't be doing what they do now. Which is purposely losing games to decrease their average.
If the smurfs can find a way to go backwards then they'll abuse it. And if they can't. They'll just make a new account, because they do not want those harder lobbies. The only way to fully be rid of them is for apex to remove being able to make multiple accounts.
Sure losing isn't nearly as fun as winning, and a majority of people do play to win, but not everyone. I play not for the win but for the what's supposed to be more evenly matched lobbies, and those games that are so close you don't know who is going to win. In my personal experience winning does not always equal a good gaming experience.
I have my own idea based of an individual point system but even then until apex removes smurfing completely and fixes its mm ranked is going to continue to be a mess.
Thing is, I'm not sure you can compare a game like apex to something like rainbow 6. They're two completely different game settings. While apex is supposed to be a team effort game, it is mostly played as just a br like fortnight or warzone.
To me rainbow 6 was a completely different experience in my opinion. It relied far more on team work than apex does and it's more like modern warfare, just without the respawning.
Apex just doesn't have that kind of player base.

I'm not saying your idea isn't worth trying though.

@XxColdFangxX Im sorry I didnt express myself clearly in my reply. I meant to say everybody plays to win their fights. Not necessarily the game... I dont care if I dont win every game but I want to win fights against similarly skilled opponents this is how I have fun.

Same for everybody... except some like to win against lower skilled players hence the smurf problem. If they have to get killed to go down in rank then the losing makes the wining fade and lame. So in an Mmr rank everybody would really play against similarly skilled players all the time except maybe the top 2% because there are too few predators they would have to lower the queue and match them against masters but it already is like that. All of us would get a relief and real good games for how many hours we want to.
