So we recently had the change of ranked, a system that did need a overhaul of some sort, now season 13 hits and that is what we got, a entry level cost for every single tier, a new rookie rank for brand new players that haven't touched rank, though that is kinda broken itself as people who have played ranked before and have made it to gold are being put into rookie for some reason. Also it comes with a change in how you are meant to play ranked now. So is it all good or is it all bad or is it a mix? Well it's a mix as it also depends on where in the world you are.
So Rookie rank is the new one, this is to help get people used to ranked matches, now that's a good thing as they can practice and improve and see what works best for them without being effected by anything/anyone, downside for them though is a lot will be solo queueing and are thrown in with Bronze/Silver/Gold Players who need a kill or more to then safely camp/rat until top 5 to get any form of points otherwise they suffer and end up with negative points, which is a set back and a pain in the rear.
Now you get out of Rookie, congratulations, training wheels are now off and now it becomes harder if you are solo queueing as you or your team need 1 - 3 kills depending on the rank and tier of your team mates which makes it even worse as your tactic have to change, instead of going guns blazing, you have to hide in a corner, pick off a random enemy and then wait till top 5 or even top 2 all the while hoping another team doesn't find the 3 of you just huddled in a corner praying not to be found out and loosing to another team before you hit positive points.
Your team mates during solo queue, this is a mix of rank and public, you don't know who they are, their play style or anything, that's one of the huge downfalls, so you could be about to engage them in ranked and general only to find out that even though they were beside you, they have gone off on their own and started doing their own thing which then ends up you getting dunked on and watching them do whatever for the next 5 - 10 minutes or so as they then rat and hide without getting a single kill or if in public they quit the match altogether.
Ranking Points, They are the same amount you get previously, now you are thinking "But Poster, how am i meant to get positive points?" Well you see that's the thing, early game points from kills are absolutely worth nothing, now this can be good, this can be bad due to entry cost, say you land a far spot, gear up and look to a fight, you get a nice clean squad kill, everyone's grumbling as all of you now have a whole 3 points, now you and friends or if you are solo think "On to the next fight?" well you have to start to question yourself "Is it worth trying to fight another team with x amount of squads left while still negative?" No it's not worth pursuing another fight just yet. This is where you begin to rat and camp, taking random pot shots or whatever to get the enemy team to use up their supplies. Now you are thinking but rat strats and camping and all this to get positive points is not worth the wait, i want it off the start, well sorry to say that is not going to happen anymore. It seems that this season and for however long this ranked system is in place for is dedicated to the players who enter these big tournaments, it is about positioning and getting the drop on enemies instead of rushing in blindly.
As a solo player, there’s just no point which is really unfair. But yet again respawn only caters to pros and those that play in teams buying all the skins in the world which is why I don’t buy anything nor play the game as much as I use too. Respawn is just a awful disgusting company

Now if they do a ranked Duo's force everyone to solo queue it, then that might make it worthwhile to play ranked as everyone will be with a random team mate that is either good/excellent/bad it would be fun to try even with the current point system as you could play it how you want.
