Ranked arena idea

@OldTreeCreeperI wouldn't say DCd. They just left.
Either way the match was over in less than 10 seconds. Why does that warrant any reward??Sure yay free points, but nothing was done at all during that match.
In truth the arenas ranked system needs a desperate rework, but how do we do that in a way that eliminates the smurfs but also keeps players out of tiers they don't really belong in?
In arenas points are only assigned for winning, unlike br there is no, you lost but you did this well, survived this long, killed this many people, so you get this many points, and it honestly tanks.
The only thing I can think of is to eliminate the demotion, increase the amount of points needed to advance to the next level, and start basing points off how well you do individually instead of if you win or lose.
Removing the demotion will keep smurfs from going back to the easier tiers.
Increasing the tier goal with make players have to stay in certain teirs longer.
And making points based off something other than just win or lose means players actually have to work to get anywhere, and we don't get free points for matches that don't happen.
The smurfs will either have to put in limited amounts of damage to stay in bronze level lobbies, risk climbing to the next teir, or just not play at all and risk reports for being inactive.
But what will keep players from climbing too quickly?
Loss deductible.
Each tier would have their own loss deductible that increases as you climb higher. If you lose a match and don't do well enough to beat the deductible you don't get any points, but if you manage to beat it, you get the difference.
I.e if you get 150 points total and the deductible is 100, you'd only get 50 points.
I know it's not perfect and there's still issues about not wanting to get stuck with weak teammates but that falls to the devs fixing Mm.
At least with this, it takes some of the stress off, gives stronger players incentive to keep trying, and keeps them from getting demoted for a bad match they couldn't really help. So long as they beat their loss deductible they'll still earn points, or stay where they're at.
I think it's something to at least try and even if it's bad, if it's at least better than what we have now, we could keep it until something better is made.
