From Bronze to Platinum it's all dominated by smurfs and preds, diamond and up it's only cheaters. I am in silver or gold and am somehow playing against S2 predators with 20k and 4k badges. The split makes the rank disparity even greater and casuals is plagued with SBMM making matches *. The overall game is nice, but matchmaking destroys the game, especially in ranked.
heh i went through bronze and silver in hours. Quite easy tbh.
The first time I actually started pushing ranked, I went from Bronze to Diamond just solo queuing in half a season split. I play on Xbox, and my main problem with playing ranked is that when I hit Diamond, I get queued into predators and higher Diamond players who nothing but cower in corners the entire match, thus completely defeating the purpose of even playing a shooting game. I was in a match where it was round 3 and there were still 16 full squads left. There is no point in playing ranked. It isn't rewarding, and there is nothing fun about it. Furthermore, I don't see the point in bothering with campers when I can just hunt down the same predators and 4k/20kill badge players for sport in regular matches because there they rush everything in sight like they're invincible.
Well, that's not why it's a joke to me.
I pretty much cared about Rank until last season when they brought Kings Canyon back after the split. I refues to play that map seriously because it isn't worth taking seriously. So, now, I pretty much just use all ranked play as regular play, for doing achievements and stuff. It's Worlds Edge but they already ruined the season with KC on the first half.
Right now, in fact, I'm afk from a match I happen to be dead in. I told the team, and that's about how awesomely serious I take ranked now.
Once upon a time I did take ranked seriously. I mean, they have a good system. But if they're going to recycle maps which encourage you not to play as a team, like whatever version of KC there is, then I can't. And ranked is just better for achievements than their normal game mode :P
