I'm genuinely done with ranked... the game is not fun to play anymore the grind is impossible and solo queuing is hell. You guys found a way to ruin this game... I'm out. When I come back home from work and play this dumpsterfire I genuinely feel like I'm wasting my time now and that the game is just laughing at me and not respecting my time by rewarding me garbage. It's just not fun to play anymore it just feels like a chore and I'm genuinely sad now.
S11 and S12 was amazing. I was always in diamond and my teammates were most of the time really good. In S12 I was almost Diamond 3 and my last games were always +points, then the season ended. I was looking forward to hit Masters one day.
S13 I play every day 8+hours since the start and Im stucked in gold4 (In old ranked Id be Diamond by now). My teammates very often play alone (no teamwork) and then they rage in chat how am I still alive when they died solo while pushing 3 man team... :D
I also feel like skill of individual players in new gold rank is very mixed, once I get one clipped from R99 by S12 Master rank player, next time they cant land a shot on me.
I think there should be two ranking systems, the old one for solo queue players and the new one for pre-made teams...
This new ranking system is good, but totally not for solo players.
I wish they would do something about this because I really like this game.
Very simple: Ranked is now terrible for solo queuing players and very rewarding/more teamplay oriented for premade 3-man squads. I guess its impossible to make it better for both those player types so Respawn chose to focus on premade squads, which I objectively think is a good idea even though I personally liked the solo grind in ranked, especially since I now a days really dont have time to spend several hours every night to play with my premade squads.
Perhaps the idea here is to make normal mode the mode you choose when you are solo and just wanna frag for 1-2 hours without any concern for your teammates and Ranked the mode the mode for players who wanna play this game seriously.
I think you've inadvertently stumbled upon a solution.
This rank system should go to full premades, the prior rank system should be for solo or duo queues.
Solo queuing in S13 ranked is the worst it has ever been. As a whole, the new ranked system is great for the overall ranked experience and creating a gameplay experience that is different from pubs. The problem for solo queuers is that this ranked system puts a lot more emphasis and importance on teamwork, which gives an obvious advantage to premade squads. In fact, I remember a little while ago one of the devs admitted that solo queuers are at a disadvantage to premade squads. So, if they acknowledge that truth and want to make a more fair system for all players, they should add some sort of grace points for those players. My suggestion would be to decrease the entry cost for solo queue by 10 points, and the entry cost for duo queue by 5 points.
I solo que ranked myself, and this season sucks balls. I'm currently silver 1 and I get matched up with bronze 3 and 4 teammates, and they are bad...real bad. Last season was definitely easier. I started playing 3 weeks before season 12 ended, and I was able to climb G2 during the last 2 weeks solo que'ing.
I am sure this is fine at higher levels and people who play evryday but as someone with a job and just likes to see how high they can climb in my own time but right now it just isn't FUN. I liked the idea of getting rewarded for teamwork, I think that's good but I don't think the current system really executes that well. I don't think ranking down is necessarily a problem either. This current point system just isn't enjoyable.
