It seems that my issue is that I try to play Apex as a "team game" in ranked, when I should likely just solo in ranked amd let my team die 80% of the time if I want to advance. It isn't much fun playing the game that way, since it means hiding and waiting until final rounds. I'm good enough to win most of my one on one's, some of my 2 v 1s, but can't win 3 v 1s yet. I also don't have the time to put into the game to get that good TBH.
And when I queue in nonranked lobbies, I find myself against diamond/pred teams that shred through the lobby most of the time. Zero fun either way.
Time to do something else for a while and see of the next season is better. I quit season 5 because it was bad, and came back for 7 and 8, which I really enjoyed. Maybe this season is just trash.
As far back as I can remember gold 3 and 4 were always bad for random teammates, it seems skill and awareness are all over the place.
Once you get to gold 2 you will start getting teammates who will work together with the random randoms mixed in occasionally.
If you want better teammates to play the team game then you either need to make a premade and practice some things with them so you are all on the same page about playstyle and comms.
Or solo higher....to find random teammates with better gameplay.
No one likes to play the rat playstyle.....and when the players in silver or gold eventually say something....I just say "sorry I am not in this tier, just passing through, you guys can return to loot muling next game" , but my core focus in lower tiers is to get points.
I know how you feel, "if only I could get two half way decent teammates that play similarly and can communicate..." But it rarely happens....and without practicing together...you will eventually learn even those teammates do things "that make no sense" 🥳

also, I honestly believe this, each tier teaches you something important for overall gameplay.
eg. "Ratting is a bad playstyle for coward who can't fight." But in reality, it teaches the ability to scope out enemies early and using LOS well, if you are consistently good at it. So even when you are fighting more, the experience will teach you to position and avoid unwinnable fights later on.
Look past the frustration and to your own game, there may very well be some things you need to work on in order to climb.
This is why I soloQ.
I never want to be on a team with the great teammate who carries, I want to be that guy. You don't get there worrying about what others are doing wrong.
