The thing is, I don't see how I can prevent reaching tiers beyond my actual (shoot-y) skill. I'm Lvl 100, so I don't get any further rewards from progressing in that path. The Battlepass with the challenges is somewhat unsatisfying, so I decided not to buyi t yet.
Ranked right now is the only way for me to actually get a sense of progression and reward for playing, even if it only leads to bragging rights I don't care about, and competition with people with whom for me not to compete anymore should've been the point of the Ranked mode.
Right, same feeling here, although at Bronze level. Probably intended by design, but players of very different skill levels still mixing a lot, is not what I would have installed a ranked system for ...
if you like, see also a pity, ranked does not help being matched against players of my skill level
Level 100 is a very large barrier to entry. That can take a while for those that have work or school schedules, or pose some difficulties with matchmaking wait times if you reduce the amount of players that can queue up.
The real question you should ask is at what level do you think you've gained a clear understanding of the game. A level 30 player can be more skilled at the game than level 100, time played is the only thing separated the two.
Do you think level 10 is too low? If so, what level do you realistically think it should be at?
We've seen some feedback on how Bronze players are queuing up with higher league players. Keep in mind that doesn't help the Platinum player out unless they think the Bronze player can help them avoid RP loss, but hey, maybe they also want to get into a competitive match with a friend?
Someone else mentioned in another discussion relative to this how you should only be able to queue up with someone X amount of leagues higher than you, so there is some form of league ceiling you can hit until you rank up higher.
Thoughts?
- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry then maybe lvl 50

As long as the ring duration goes up or the damage goes down.
cant even have a nice fight with a squad.
- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry There shouldn’t be any restrictions on playing ranked matches with friends, regardless of comparative rank.

- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry There should be no limit on who you can queue with in terms of ranks above you. I have friends who are better than me but don't have the time to play as much.
From Platinum onwards there's no way you'd invite someone who couldn't pull their weight as it would be a guaranteed loss so there's no harm in allowing it.
In terms of when someone should have access to ranked - it would be better if the RP system was reworked to help people stay at an appropriate level for their skill, rather than a minimum level requirement before they can play it. This would mean an overhaul in how RP is awarded and a mechanism for falling to lower brackets brought in. This would be complicated work, especially to do it in a way that doesn't empty out the top brackets, but it's essential if ranked is to be more than a brief novelty. A lot of players I know who would slot comfortably into the Apex bracket in my region seem to have stopped playing ranked, partly because of not being able to get games to pop and partly because the guys who are great players but don't have time to grind and grind aren't really getting better games anyway because of how many bad players get to gold as a matter of course. - 6 years ago
@EA_BlueberryYes level 100 is too high and I'll even admit 50 is too high but 10 is way way too low.
Any normal person wishing to get a decent rank would 'practise' at a game before jumping straight into ranked BUT at the moment there is limited penalties or restrictions so they're jumping straight in.
The problem with that is it's win/win for them (apart from stats) but unlucky for those that get paired up with them for all manner of reasons. Likewise lower ranked players are forced to play in higher tiers if their friends are ranked higher to stop cheating/stomping yet a decent premade team are essentially doing that now for the first 10/20 games until they are out of bronze.
So surely the answer is to either increase the requirement to level 25/30 whatever OR perhaps start higher levelled players in a better tier? Obviously the latter will happen come next season (depending on their rank this season) so I only see the first option as valid, becasue at the moment for anyone other than a full trio the games, players are just providing an awful experience. - TheJumpingJawa6 years agoSeasoned Ace
Just sort out the frickin' cheating and there'd be no need for ranked requirements.
In a Platinum queue game our squad just met an Apex Predator (1041RP) using wallhack & aimbot clear as day.
His account rank? 48 ! (according to apex.tracker.gg)
Game before that?
Another cheater. Rank 117.
Examining his stats on apex.tracker.gg .....
Bangalore
Matches played: 76
Full Squad Wins: 64
Kills: 1853
Yes, you read that correctly; with Bangalore this guy has *averaged* 24.4 kills per match.
These aren't new accounts, they've been blatantly cheating for extended periods of time.
Yet you've done sweet F.A. about it.
It's honestly quite pathetic at how ineffectual you've been at countering cheaters.

The team strongly advises against queuing up with cheater via their latest update over the weekend on cheating.
- Investigating how people party up for matches. Even if you are not specifically using a cheat, partying up with cheaters is still cheating.
- 6 years ago@EA_Blueberry so now we must sacrifice RP to avoid be banned by partying up with cheaters ☹️

Yeah, I already see it coming.
Players get banned, because they matched up with cheaters.
The real cheaters keep playing/cheating.
BTW: When you let streamers promote your game on twitch while using obvious hacks, you can not be suprised, that more and more players start to cheat.
