May I ask what rank you are? Because when you get a little bit higher up, like Platinum and higher, Kills and assist come super important if you wanna continue to go up in rank and not get stuck in Platinum4 or Diamond 4. There is no way you can only rely on placement when the entry fee is 48 RPs. For instance, A 3rd place with 1 kill will only give you +2 RPS, which ofc wont work in the long run. You need to at least average 3-4 kills/assist and get placed fairly high to have a steady increase of RPs.
So I guess it can get a little uneven skillwise in the lower divisions, like silver/gold because there are so many players there who are actually too good for that division but are on the way up and just "passing through" so to speak. So even if kills gave more contribution to the RP-gain, those individuals "passing through" would get to his correct division just a little bit faster, but I doubt that would solve the problem because there will always be good players on troll accounts or returning to Apex from a break in the lower divisions. On the other hand, more RPs for kills would probably increase the mass early hot drops and there will only be 10 teams left in round 2.
