The promos are basically just a prolonging of the grind and not a "final test" that a player is ready for the next rank division. You just have to keep on performing just like you did to reach the promos and eventually, stars and planets will align and you just happen to randomly hit the promo requirements during the promo matches =) Stupid system and sometimes super frustrating, especially as a solo since you have even less control about your chances to complete the promos.
Last platinum promos I played, I was matches with premade duos of one gold and one bronze player. Constellations like this usually means that they are playing casually on smurfs accounts, just for fun so how can I convince such duos to tryhard to get placement when all they wanna do is jump hot and push fights??
I would definitely prefer a solo Q only ranked mode, i.e lobbies of only solo players in teams of 3. But I dont complain too much since if I really wanted to tryhard to climb the ranks, I would find a premade squad. I choose to play solo Q so I just have to accept it for what it is.
I used to solo q a lot, even in season 17 (which was horrendous! 😭) so I understand how frustrating solo q can be, but I didn't even think about how annoying it must be to complete trials alone. It just feels like Respawn keeps trying to prolong the grind for ranked for no good reason. I don't have anything to prove because I regularly have to kill Masters & Preds in my matches, I just want the latest badge & charm 😂 My duo & I also really enjoy ranked for the insane final circles.
