Re: cheaters ping spiking internet
@8i90 Not sure if there's an upcoming fix or anything like that, but can confirm from my own experiences that the "lag" happens before a fight, usually when they run up on you out of the blue with no audio, or during a fight when you're about to win the fight.
In previous seasons, this lag would kick everyone out of the match, but with recent DDOS protection, I think cheaters moved to DDOSing teams they're fighting at the time. My main evidence to assume this is that when they get closer to your team, there's more lag and when you back away from them, the lag stops, and after they squad wipe you, they don't show any signs of lagging themselves. Also, with some of them, if you spectate long enough and they happen to run into another team, you may also see the other team visually lag out as well.
Here's an example of someone getting lagged out, and after my team killed theirs, the 3rd team started to lag us out too.
Note that after they got knocked, they fell into the knocked state, then there was a short pause before they were moving again. Guess the cheater saw no point in lagging out a knocked player.
Also if you wondered, yes this is from a saved video that I have and it happened during season 15. I cannot share the video due to the fourm's "no naming and shaming" rule, (the cheater's username did show up in the kill feed when they knocked the Horizon). Best I can do is the examples above.
