  • my balance idea:

-Wingman should use sinper ammo instead of heavy ammo

-remove skullpiercer, but remain the headshot multiplier

-increase the recoil or the bullet drop or both (make it bigger than longbow's)

-make it able to use any scope(1x/2x/2x-4x/4x-8x/6x/4x-10x)

    -reduce the rate of fire

-(maybe reduce ammo capacity from 5 to 4?)

  • Now, that is an interesting take. To be honest, the ammo type change would be nice/ worth a try, because one of the main reasons that you can't really use a sniper, is the fact that the sniper ammo stack is so small 16 bullets... also it would eliminate the wingman spam, and it would be harder to find ammo for it/ it would make Respawn change the stack size.

  • @DraknasChanMaybe sniper ammo is too harsh for the wingman users.
As I suggested at the beginning, I think it is fine to make wingman uses 2 heavy bullets per shot, exactly the same as the flatline with anvil receiver in season 4, since they have almost the same damage.

*Since most people in here talk about the damage falloff only, few people talk about the ammo usage change ^_^.

  • @Sir_Named We go in circles because you think it is fine. Think about the different stats of each weapon at range. You literally are a sitting duck with an AR/SNIPER when going against a wingman. I mean, seriously, I bring counter arguments to your points on the gun, and you never answer them.

I am also not alone here. This is an issue that needs to be addressed. And the easiest way to fix it - add damage fall off. I like it as a close quarters high damage weapon. But the fact it is being used as a sniper pistol is stupid. You don't need accuracy for it. Like @Tired_Capybara said - "If you have 2 eyeballs, you can land shots".

When I meet someone with a wingamn at range, I stop fighting because I KNOW I will lose. I leave. It doesn't matter who it is. They can fire faster, do more damage, move faster, and reload faster. No matter my gun, I will lose (unless I have a wingman).

@SolitaryMassacre Well, yeah, I think it’s fine. I don’t really want to compromise on this, since I’ve already made a bunch of counterpoints.
But the Wingman has a lot of drop at sniping range, it only has up to 2x, so the only way it’d hit you at snipe range is if you stood still or they got lucky.

Giving up because you don’t have a Wingman is a bit dramatic.

But yeah, we’re just kind of going in circles.
  • @Sir_Named But the drop is consistent that you could practice it in the range, so it is not a big problem if you really practice hard.

For the 2x scope of wingman, it is far enough for it to make this weapon good. 36m-100m is not a snipe range, and only a few weapons are good to equip a 3x or higher scope among all LMGs/ARs (like G7, although I think it should be a sniper instead of AR). Most weapons are fine when they have a 2x scope at that range. Wingman has its advantage against SMGs/pistols that have a 36m headshot damage falloff, and LMGs that have ~60m headshot damage falloff. Yea, it is hard to land a shot if it is really a sniper range, however to land a shot at ~40m is not as hard as people's thought, especially if you are a wingman main player.

Wingman is really an OK gun and it is not OP.  It even got nerfed and it's headshot damage decreased at the begining of this season and the only buff it got is the hop-op.

It's DPS is very normal, and I believe those who argue about how you can drop players with 2 or 3 headshots in a row (with hop op), never actually used this gun in a match.

The problem is that becasue of the battle pass skin, more players are using it... it's like season 4 that everyone was a flatline players, while on season 3 many considered flatline a bad weapon.

Instead of asking for nerf of every single gun (mastiff, wingman, R99, Havoc, ...) try to improve your playstyle, or we will end up having just mozabiqe XD

  • @Alphabets DPS is not the only factor to show which weapon is OP. Lets see the old PK, which has only 88 DPS and we think it is broken while the joke mozabique has a higher DPS than PK (~95.25), yet we said this is a joke weapon.

One headshot of wingman can change the output of the fight directly, especially all other close-ranged weapons lost their headshot damage at a distance. One less shot is required to down a player if a headshot landed in almost all situations when using wingman, and this is the advantage of wingman which does not loss its headshot damage in all distances.

The battle pass skin may be a reason for the increasing number of player using wingman, but this problem (no damage falloff) always exists since the wingman is introduced, and I am not the first person who pointed out wingman should add a damage falloff like other guns.

If I need to improve my playstyle, I would act like the guy on top :"I stop fighting because I KNOW I will lose. I leave. It doesn't matter who it is". It is ridiculous for a pistol to win an AR while in a mid-range since this pistol can deal ~75 damage headshot (with helmet) to me even at that long range.

@Xx__Miku831__xX Well, if you are good and practice it really hard for a long time, then you probably become really good.
If you practice the Mozambique the same amount you could probably land 1 of the 3 bullets. That’s just being good at the game.

Most people don’t “main” a weapon, and are fairly flexible in what weapons they use.
40 m isn’t extremely difficult, but it isn’t sniping range, and you still have to have serious skill to use while strafing.
But this is the same argument I’ve made in previous posts.

@Xx__Miku831__xX The Mozam is extremely bad for anything other than point blank, thanks to the spread.
The PK was stronger than the Mozam because it had more range, you didn’t have to ADS, and was easier to use. The Mozam did have a higher dps, but you would need to hit all three shots and have hammerpoint in order to hit someone, and I guess nobody really tried it.
  • @Sir_Named Then back to the beginning question again, why wingman is so unique that only this gun does not lose headshot damage beyond 36m while other SMGs/Pistols does? If you said since it is hard to land a headshot, then it is the same with the RE45 and the mozabique.

Wingman, or pistols, they are not supposed to fight long range, just like the SMGs. They took away the 2-4x and 3x scope from the SMGs, as people spam shots in long-range in season 2, that makes ARs pretty useless at that moment. Now it is almost the same for wingman, with much more advantage to fight in short range, and it still have good chance to win in the battle that beyond 36m (supposed that you have similar skills to the opponent). Not only you can deal full headshot damage to the opponent when shooting from a long range, but you can
also spam shots since it has a lower bullet consumption among all other guns. This shows that wingman really needs to change.
  • @Sir_Named I wouldn't say that, I would say 80% of my deaths are to the R99. Maybe that's just what I get killed by and not everyone is the same but in most games all I hear is brrrrrrrrrrrr spraying R99's.

    @xx_Dante2k_xx
(That was a response to my thing about not “maining” a weapon, right?)
Other than recoil, there isn’t much to it, and the Prowler is similar in dps and stuff.

@Xx__Miku831__xX Probably doesn’t lose headshot damage at 36+ meters because it’s a hand cannon.
    ARs are still very useful.
The Wingman isn’t forgiving if you miss shots, plus they did reduce the mag a while back.
But I seriously don’t feel like continuing this. We’re going in circles. I’ll check back some other time, or @ me if you have anything new.
  • @Sir_Named But it is way less common to see and isn't a weapon that is over used.
    Wraith = Sweat.... R99 = sweat it's all Apex is atm .
