Maybe you do it too fast.
Wait for the squad wiped eliminated screen and then quit or to be safe wait until you can spectate the enemy and then quit.
This way you'll never get penalty.

I reached Diamond IV with no penalty.

You can also leave when your banner is grey respawn timed out.

    @SpyrosFPS I must do it a hair too early. I'm just gonna have to wait until the cinematics play itself out.
    It sucks I just don't have as much time to play between work and the end of the season. I've gotten to diamond 1 and was well on my way to predator, so I was making sure I did everything right. And I got hit with the ban that last till the end of the season.
