I've played this game for only two days, and so far I've been spotted and killed every single time I've popped my ult without any way to defend myself. I've tried using it as an escape, defense, and aggressively. That circle of clones just screams "I'm defenseless and not completely invisible come find and kill me!" 

I do agree with you on the passive. There are several better ways to handle that. As is it's just a slightly delayed death because just like with the clone circle everyone knows when they see that overly dramatic holo go down you're somewhere nearby. I've had enemies completely ignore the holo and just start spamming shot gun in my general direction which of course takes you out.
