Re: OLED burn in/image retention due to HUD. Busy HUD

I bought an LG E7 OLED a couple of years which is beautiful and very expensive. I was in gaming and movie bliss. Apex dropped, it quickly became my favorite game, and then a couple of months ago I noticed it. Complete Burn in of the squad boxes on the left and the ultimate in the middle. Devastated as my tv was just then out of warranty. LG finally agreed to send a service repair except that I live in a remote area and there are none near me so they refuse to help me out in any other way. I completely stopped playing Apex on my TV but even though the game is no longer playing on it, it somehow continues to get worse. This is a Warning for any of you that have or plan on buying an OLED to use with APEX. I have found a few others with the same exact issue occurring, but because the number of gamers with OLED tvs that play Apex is so low Respawn has yet to acknowledge the issue. They need to make these boxes have a transparent option.

    Just as an added note:

I take proper care of my electronics and never let the tv sit idle or leave a game on the pause screen. I always shut it off when not in use and even usually take a few minute break between games or at least every couple of games so the screen would not have been completely static the entire time playing.

@SHIZNICKMASTA This isn't the fault of the game itself, this is a problem with the TV. This would have happened with literally any game.
  • @SixthOTD As far as who might be liable then it of course is a the manufacturers and consumers problem. HOWEVER, there have been extensive tests on other games by rtings.com using COD and FIFA and have shown no signs of burn in. I also am an avid player and have played TLOU factions and nba 2k for over 1000 hours each and have no sign of burn in from those games. Apex legends is the Game that HAS shown the burn in retention and there are other people out there with the same exact issue with the same exact burn in image. Knowing that this game could be costing people thousands in repairs it is not too much to ask that respawn look into making their static boxes on this game more transparent, or have an option for it.

@SHIZNICKMASTA Better ask the TV manufacturer to work on their game mode to make it burn-in proof, since it't their tech that has the problem.
